Truce With Brisbane

Hi all

I've just visited the Brisbane board and Danni has asked them to cool it on this battle for the most number of posts. So, in the same spirit that Danni has asked them to stop it, I'm now asking you guys to cool it down too.

As Danni said, there have been some vitorilic battles between us and them in the past, and things seem to be heading that way again. So, let's just allow things to rest for a little while (like until round 2 when we go up there and teach them how to play football

). Besides, we've got a bigger battle on our hand....we're going to go after the bastards who are writing the obituaries for our club.

p.s. Apparantly I've become the moderator of this board....not too sure how that happened or what I'm supposed to do. Anyway, it'll be normal service as usual and I won't be locking up any threads.

bugger shinners you bet me too it, i emailed bluey re: becoming moderator and he suggested i get the support of 6 people on this board. i think you are quite appropriate for the position though

and a truce with the brisbane board is a good idea

Sorry Hilly, we needed to put an ogre-like person in to scare you all into submission...

Shinners if you'd like to step down let me know. Hilly seems capable of taking over. Danni asked me to put you both in as moderators to try to stop this 'posting war' which was cluttering the boards making it hard for people to have discussions.

It is not a hard job. It's about figuring out ways to NOT ban people and NOT delete posts and threads. "You can't be a moderator without moderation"... is a poxy saying I just made up.

Shinners... I am sure you know that I respect your opinion on most subjects.... and hope you respect mine...

As one of the main antagonists in this battle I am quite happy to stop the posting war... but in all seriousness I have not posted many topics unrelated to football... barring post made on the Brisbane board thread and a few potshots here and there...

So as long as they realise that we won the battle I am qite happy to stop the posting war...

However it should be remembered that since watching Noel Gordon on the footy show some years ago... I have a built in hatred for Brisbane and have never confessed to anything less...

And If they in the other room wish to restart this battle at anytime in the future I will have no hesitation in thumping them again...

So to conclude should we shake their hands or give them a poke in the eye... sorry had to have one last poke...

BTW congrats on the position of moderator... until the day you close one of my threads anyway...

Shinners, you'll find that you'll have to do not quite much at all!

It doesn't invest you with any special powers, save for the ability to lock/remove others posts on your board - and that happens very rarely, even for a hated club like Richmond!

Okay, as the moderator, I expect a statue to be created here in my honour and a picture of me in every room of your house...okay? Um, guys...why are you laughing....er, stop laughing...please.....

Anyway, Rooboy96, can you please e-mail me with your e-mail address. I can get Hilly's one pretty easily. If there's ever a situation where I think that something needs to be locked up or deleted, I'll e-mail you guys and get your thoughts. But having read through every post that's been made here, I doubt whether we'll ever have to censor or lock up anything. All of us have posted in good humour as have our visitors, so I don't think there will be any hassles.

It seems like you spoke too soon. I've already deleted one thread from here....it's the usual tempting fate thing....one minute I say there's nothing thats ever been posted here that I've found offensive and the next some smart alec posts something that I reckon most North fans (and the player concerned) would find offensive. So, I guess the rule is: Total freedom of speech for all North fans, the rest of you are here as our guests.
