Don't think Sleep 'won' the series v Pak in 89/90, seeing his last test was the first in that series...dont think he ever 'won' a series...though he made a few runs v NZ one summer

That was the series where Mike Whitney blocked out the last overs to force a draw in the MCG test, with the last over bowled by Richard Hadlee.

There was some doubt there with that LBW appeal. The doubt was if it would have hit all 3 stumps, or just middle!! :D:D:D

There must have been a very faint inside edge. ;)

I actually saw that delivery for the first time this year, and they used that ball tracking technology thingy.

I'm surprised they even bothered to appeal and they didn't all start grabbing 'victory' stumps.

Another entry to be revenged in the book of grudges. ;)

What next? Shall we talk about that famous "underarm delivery" incident when the Australian captain Greg Chappell instructed his brother Trevor Chappell to bowl the last ball to New Zealand's Brian McKechnie along the ground to prevent hitting a six to tie the match back in the early 1980's???

SeinDude, can you possibly confirm, (or not), that Mike Whitney actually took more first class wickets than scored first class runs?

Maybe I'm showing my age, but the WSC era enabled numerous deadset hacks to get a baggy green.

Ric Darling, Trevor Laughlin, David Ogilvie, Alan Hurst, Sam Gannon, Peter Toohey, Craig Serjeant, Tony Mann, John Maclean to name a few off the top of my head.

Ric Darling and Graham Wood running between the wickets was the best comedy in cricket.
And for duds, he did well in one-day cricket, but at Test level you'd have to include Simon Davis.
1 Test, 1 innings, 0 not outs, 0 runs at 0.00
0 wickets for 70, average infinity.

Trevor Chappell and Shaun Graf also.

Trevor Chappell only played 3 tests, made a total of 79 runs at an average of 15.80 with a highest score of 27. (didn't bowl)

Shaun Graf didn't play test cricket, just 11 one-day internationals.
