He suggested that Judd is doing too much bullocking work & that Murphy needs to win more of his own ball. Comments which are no doubt quite valid, but which should have stayed in-club. Ratts, in his usual subtle way, indicated he would have preferred the article be run by him before it was published.

Does Ratts think he's Rupert Murdoch now? Stories in the newspaper get run past the editor and thats it.

The last time Sheehan gets an inside and exclusive look at our clubs preparation with team meetings and midfield meetings I would say...

Reckon you might be right. Ratts didn't look real pleased, did he?

I have no argument with that, but when you invite a journalist into the inner sanctum of the club you would hope that he wouldn't use it as an opportunity to 'stir the pot' in the name of keeping the editor satisfied.

From the little that Sheahan shared in last week's episode of 'On The Couch' about the trip to Perth, I am sure there could have been an extremely interesting article on the inner workings of the club's football department leading up to, during & after the game in Perth. Instead he had to go with an article based on the words of one of the club's greats, who sometimes forgets who he is talking to & who he is talking about. Diesel is one of my favorite Carlton players of the last 40 years, but he is as subtle as a sledgehammer.

Geez Ratts is cool, calm and collected in front of the media. I think he is pretty articulate too.

Mark Harvey on the other hand............................... :o:o

In fairness, Sheahan did write that article too, did you miss it?

I must have. Reading the Herald Sun on the website has its disadvantages, but I draw the line at paying $1.65 per day to buy the Herald Sun on the Gold Coast.

You're really gonna thank me for this one, great read, very insightful, also the source of many inspirational quotes, among them:

Bradley, a quiet observer, finally breaks into voice.

"With Juddy, any shenanigans, we're f---ing 100 per cent flying the flag. We want everyone to see how much we want him, love him, that sort of stuff," he says.

"We don't give frees away, but we're in there on the front foot, no bulls--- whatsoever. Give him the ball, look after him."

Judd shuffles in his chair. The nerves are starting to hit, but he knows he has been accepted into his new family, and his brothers in arms are going to look out for him.

Here's the whole article:

Now you will understand that ultimately us Carlton fans and the football public are going to be the real losers from Ratts' disapproval of Sheahan's candour regarding Diesel's comments :thumbsd:
