Ive never really followed the AFL anyway. I always knew it would end up a comp without integrity, the game changing every year till it became an unappealing game to the game that existed in the past decades.

So my Port Adelaide Magpies and SANFL is always treated by me as the #1 AR focus. So me accepting Gold Coast in the AFL doesnt change that. I have some attachments/roots in the GC, like I do Adelaide, like I do the ACT, and Tassie, the Central Coast, and the USA, etc. So you'll find I spread my sporting teams around to all the regions I have some form of attachment to.

Im not sure if this is a troll or a genuine question, but it has been done to death in this forum already. Have a search through if you would like more answers to this question.

Basically there are many reasons why people jump on teams with inaugral memberships but the main reasons are proximity, passion, and the ability to watch live games without having to travel interstate to do so.

I appreciate that you may think of people as turncoats, and this question will not cease to be asked anytime soon, but spare a thought that people may wish to follow a new team for the reasons outlined above and if thats being a turncoat, then its possibly not much different to players moving interstate for more opportunities, business people moving to the city or even expats living overseas.

If the current team does not offer what a person is looking for why can't they change?

If you take that stance then your going to be stuck in the same job for life, continue dating the first girl you kissed and never throw away your favorite shirt.

People change, priorities change and things that may have been important to them also change. Just look at the big Vicotiran clubs half way through a sucessful season all of a sudden half the state follows them :D

Is this yet another urban myth ?
Where are these so called turncoats ?
I don't know anybody who's dropped one team for another .
I followed Sydney when South Melbourne came to Sydney.
It didn't prevent me from following East Sydney or Subiaco .
I support the WCE and Freo by attending their games .
When Sydney comes to town we arrange a big party .
If I lived on the GC I'd certainly support the GC but that
wouldn't prevent me from following the fortunes of Sydney .

As footy fans, I'm guessing most of you follow a current AFL side.

Do you intent to change clubs when GC enter the comp and turn your back on your old club?

If so, do you feel a bit guilty about this?

Thanks

Dear Black Flag,

As a Carlton fan, I'm guessing you are corrupt, immoral and a cheat.

Did you understand the implications of your lifestyle choice when you imbraced your current club?

If so, do you feel a bit guilty about this?

No-one at your club did when they continually breached the salary cap.

Thanks

Wow, I'm sorry you are so bitter, but since you asked, no, I don't feel guilty, only regret. Carlton have done the time, we've moved on.

@cos - That's a fair explanation, following 2 teams is possible I guess, but maybe there will be conflict when they play each other. The whole concept is a bit foreign to me though.
