Hate the inclusion of 'dots'. I get it for limited overs cricket but not Tests. No one gives a shit about dot balls in Test cricket. Maidens are more reflective of if the bowler is working over the batsman.

I agree but I guess with that graphic they were showing that out of 71 balls (11.5 overs) there was 51 dots (8.3 overs). It wouldn’t make sense to do it otherwise.

but also I doubt many people would of noticed that graphic and what was included in it unless it was pointed out during commentary

I kinda wish a broadcaster would play around with condensing the scorebug along these lines.

I like the concept and the aesthetic you've gone for, not so much the placement of the different elements.
I remembered I sketched out a similar idea ages ago, but rather than post that and force everyone to decipher it, I thought I'd flesh it out a bit in PS using a scoreline from earlier today.
Font's more or less a placeholder, and I've blatantly stolen the team logos from Fox, but it gets the point across I think.

Sorry if this scorebug has already been posted, I've been focusing too much on hockey this season and losing interest in basketball but I just noticed this scorebug today. I don't mind it but it looks a bit tall. Needs to be slimmed down a bit and then it'd be perfect

Would be completely unreadable from beyond a foot away from the TV

Perhaps a dumb idea, but has a cricket broadcaster ever experimented with a field placement type of graphic that you see in the corner in computer games like Cricket 26? I think it's the main element of cricket missing when you're watching on TV rather than live at the venue.

7 has shown this sometimes before an over starts with Tests & BBL but it’s never a permanent feature. Also because it takes up space I guess

I’ve been wanting this for years and don’t understand why they can’t stick in the bottom corner of the screen. It might not mean much to the casual observer but for cricket Nuffies you have no idea where the fielders are when a batsman hits the ball in the air.

It came into my mind yesterday when Travis Head lopped one to midwicket. It was either a great shot to the boundary or a terrible one straight down a fielder's throat, but it wasn't until the camera moved as the ball landed before you knew that there was no fielder in sight.

Teams regularly move fielders around, particularly in short form cricket like BBL, but you don't get a picture of what's actually happening until the ball is already heading in that particular direction. Surely it wouldn't be too hard to implement with GPS tracking and a small corner of the screen.
