The shots from behind the goals in the games so far covered this weekend are giving me the $#%#@. Why in gods name cant those responsible just leave well enough alone? With television there is no depth of perception and therefore when a tv shot of the full back is behind him on the kickout it is like being a million (slight overstatement) miles from the action. Also it is hard to judge the distance that the kickout has travelled. No idea channel 7. Why cant they realise that most people choose to sit on a wing for a reason. namely that it is because it is the best place to see the game.
Pathetic just pathetic coverage agian.

Over the summer Channel 7 spoke to all coaches and they asked for the new behind the goal angles. I agree with it for coaches so they can see setups like zones but for us spectators I think the old was better. When digital TV comes in we become our own directors.

Football is becoming so American that everything the yanks do in their sport coverage "must" be what we want to see!
Channel 7, you are so wrong!
The thing that really cheezes me off is those stupid crowd and coaching box shots while the play is still continuing. How many important pieces of the action do we miss because some stupid tv editor in a box out the back of the M.C.G (who probably doesnt like footy and is actually the president of an anti footy group) decides to throw in a shot of the coaches (you cant see them anyway because of the poor lighting or reflection from the glass) or some redneck in the crowd.
Wake up to yourselves! Take us back to Mike Williamson and Black and White. Even that was better than the American rubbish you force us to watch.

Actually I quite like it! I really love being able to see everything that is happening up the ground, who is leading, where there are spaces to run into etc... I guess it's just personal preference.

Sorry Eagle_Fan but I really cant see how you think it is opening the game up. It is so more constricting in all senses to me. There is no lateral vision. It ignores the flanks and play is akin to watching tennis. facts are that ALL other round/oval ball team games follow the action from side to side as that is how most people who go along to watch a game perfer to wiew it. In all honesty who goes along and chooses to sit in the very back row directly behind the goals when there are otherr seats availble to watch a game from? No one that I know.
7 have really ballsed it up with this one big time.
Sometimes I rekon that we would be better of with Williamson/Gale and co. Clear and concise comments and guys who made their love for the great game known with their commentary.
Lets just hope that everyone kicks straighter this season and saves us having to go over it after each and every kick out.
