Watching highlights on my phone this morning it still takes its time to go into anything visually worthwhile, still gives me the shits.

I told mum to get rid of Foxtel HD when we move out (currently in my room), I said you'll save money instantly and you don't need it. She said she'll probably use it if it was in the lounge.

We currently have Fetch in the lounge, can we remove from the Fetch and just install it in our own place (an apartment, probably with ADSL2)?

What are you planning on doing? Signing on to Optus internet in your new place, or using your mum's account? As long as her Optus internet account is active, you should theoretically be able to use her Fetch box in your new place irrespective of the ISP you use.

Anyone know how to fix the constant switching between potato "cant even read the scores" quality and high quality? Its been especially irritating this weekend. It seems to switch between the two every couple of minutes, even if I change it to low or best available quality, or delay the stream. Constant three green dots bandwidth, so don't think that's an issue.

Or is this Optus being plonky?

I have this too, are you using your WiFi or cellular data?

try a few different speedtests to see if your ISP communicates well with Optus vs other servers. Third link is Stan. A lot of people complain they have issues with them as well.

https://fast.com/ (Netflix)

FWIW, my Optus Speedtest and my Stan speedtest run faster than my normal average speedtest to random/Telstra servers (12-13mbps). Hence I have no issues I guess...

Stan
Latency: 51ms
Speed: 15.3Mbps

Probably Optus at new place.

Yeah, we won't be getting rid of the internet at home.

It appears to be app related as Fetch is fine.
Still not acceptable this far into the season. And saying just get fetch isn't acceptable because only those on a mobile plan can get it. It should have the same reliability as Foxtel broadcasts. It's the least you would expect forking put a minimum of $45 / month for just one league.

I wasn't saying "get Fetch", merely stating the two were separate. I don't know why one worked and one didn't though. Different supply chains?

It is strange isnt it? My bro in law was going to come round to my place at 2.30 in the morning to watch the rest of the game because he couldn't watch through the app. Went to bed instead. Good choice :)

I'll probably be pissing off the Optus fetch service at the end of the season.

Will use the loop hole of it not being live to get out of paying any contract breaking fees.

They can't advertise the EPL being live when it's on a 5min delay (sometimes more), if they take me to court to get the money then so be it.

Interesting scenario. Can you get out of a mobile phone contract because you're unhappy with Fetch? They might just say ok we'll cancel your Fetch service and refund your $5/month fees for this season to date.

But you only signed the mobile phone contract because there was no other way to view EPL (at least legally). I'm sure Optus are going to get quite a few disputes like this.

I reckon the consumer would have a good leg to stand on with this... Might have to ring the ombudsman and get some clarification on what is deemed to be "live telecast". Would've though 5mins+ delayed wouldn't be acceptable.

When has it ever been 5+ minutes delayed

Two things
I have everything on Optus I pay mobile and internet modem
Will I have free epl again next year
Or will I get a discount
Depends how much your accounts are. Phone plans $85 and above (not including handset repayment) will be free, and internet $90 and above is free

Liv v Che game it 100% was.

next game I watch live I'll be checking again.
What device is that on? I'm assuming the web app...

Worst I've ever seen is 1 minute, using Fetch or Apple TV 4. These days it's around 40-45 seconds, which is similar to ESPN and BeIN Sports on Fetch or Fox Sports etc on Foxtel Play
