According to Roy Morgan there are 1.7 million English Premier League viewers in Australia I wonder what percentage of them will churn over to Optus?
A lot of casual viewers will fall by the way side one would think, and in my case and people like me Optus have made it to difficult to be able to buy a package without breaking a contract with either there ISP or mobile carrier. I am locked into both and unfortunately Optus service for both products down here is poor and not worth the financial outlay (just breaking contracts for both would be close to $1K) for what is a second rate service they provide at a very expensive price even with them dangling the carrot of the EPL
The winners are those who are already with Optus and have a good reliable service still have my doubts with the numbers of subscribers how the streaming of games will go without buffering and stuttering, I am only interested in watching on HD on a Large Flat screen TV with the ability to record games.
Not going to give up Foxtel and watch the poor free to Air AFL and A-league coverage
