Just started the 2nd series. Enjoyed the first so glad to hear the 2nd is even better. Fan of JK Simmons also. But i find it hard not to see him as Vern Schillinger. That character was brutal

Haha yep Vern is where it all started for me. What a character. Also loved him in Whiplash. Such an underrated actor imo.

Tom Gleeson is a very funny man.
A little bit of the insult comic style, which we don’t get much anymore. Think Don Rickles.
 
Secret City series 2.
Made in Aus, by Aus people.
Set against the, by my eye, brutal architecture of Canberra.
Espionage, lies, Government secrets, death, murder.....
While so much of Australian TV is made up of reality s**t, this is a breath of fresh air. And shows that we can still make quality if we want to.

And the sooner the better.
Absolutely sick of Fox and it’s carpet bombing adverts.
Coupled with the “GOT round” of AFL & NRL...... I’m sick to my stomach.
If I watched the show religiously, I have watched a couple of series on long distance flights, then I’ll download it. Not pay for your showtime channel Fox.
I can’t wait for this season to come and go.
Because then I won’t have to listen to the hype anymore.


P.S. in Ireland last year we went past some castle ruins that are used in the show. Tour guide made a lot of it. Not impressive at all. Just saying.

If I'm honest Game of Thrones has never been nearly as good once the show runners no longer had the book material to work from but boy I was so so disappointed by last week.

It felt like a mix of Harry Potter meets Lord of the Rings and was full of the tropes Martin himself stated he wanted to subvert when he wrote GOT.
