Twilight absolutely sucks but at least it's better than night. After the perfect day grand final we had last year combined with the awful 'entertainment', it would be an amazingly misguided decision to change the best day of the day due to the latter whilst ignoring what's most important in the former.

You shouldn't move the match just to suit the entertainment

I'm not strongly opinionated on the subject. But in order of preference it would be...

1. Day.
2. Night.
3. Twilight.

I think Id take twilight over a night GF. That way at least all the build up and bounce down still occurs under natural light with the beautiful spring sun still shining. Say have the match start at about 4pm.

Obviously hope it always stays a day game with a 2:30pm bounce down though.

The AFL day grand final is the most exciting and important cultural event in Australia. Moving it would lose so much of it's beauty and tradition.... and it will become like every other night game in look and presentation, and ruin family and community celebrations.

I’d prefer a night game (if it can’t be a day game), twighlight sucks if your at the ground and end up in the wrong part when you are waiting for the sun to finally dip under the grandstand. Its not an MCG issue, been to twilights at MCG, Subi, Perth Stadium, Docklands & Adelaide Oval, there is always a section staring into the sun.

So someone smart at the AFL needs to figure out the time at that time of year the sun dips under the grandstand, that’s your start time.
