If that is what it takes to ensure that important speech is heard and not covered up yes.

Literally millions of people use that word in every day speech. In music. In movies. And also in hateful ways.

But when corporations get protected by governments and control what we can do and say then you take the bad with the good. Rather than take the slightly less bad with censorship.

The US has all sorts of problems but their right to free speech isnt one of them. For decades there has been a push for us to get more protections along the lines of a Bill of Rights but over the last few years I reckon free speech would be removed by people like you.

Ill have a go at answering your question. Twitter was a publicy owned (non government) company that relied on advertising $$$. It's shareholders wanted dividends and capital growth and the moderation policy was based on advertisers were willing to support. So all the little campaigners using n words and jew hate were scaring off advertisers.

Now? It's a privately ownerd company by one person with extensive links to China who seems to have offered shares as collateral to go into debt with the ****ing Saudi royal family. This is who decides what speech will be acceptable.
