Seems every time I get on the piss these days, I'm hung over for two days. Anybody else experience this? I know a few people who like to tell me they never get hang overs, which I think's a crock.

Thoughts.

Yep. Hence why I rarely get pissed these days. Go out on a Friday night and spend all weekend recovering. No thanks.

Water and vitamin B. Try downing a sneaky glass of water between every few alcoholic drinks and you'll feel so much better.
Likewise, the morning after have some Vitamin B ready to go the get your blood pressure back up.

I'm always drunk.

Wouldn't know what a hangover felt like.

Yep. Getting older and only getting pissed like once every 3 months, I need 2 days to recover.

Urg, all this "drink water" "Vitamin B" shit. It's just practice

We've been drinking for over 4000 years and still havent created a hangover cure, **** me we're a useless species

Hangovers are just punishment for stopping drinking. The key is to never stop.

I usually don't get more than a 1 day hangover from just drinking.

When I've combined booze and disco biscuits though I'd get hangovers that would last 2 days or more, that really wrecks you.

Is that you Robbo?

I started getting shocking hangovers, put it down to getting old, I've been able to knock them on the head pretty successfully.

1) Sounds obvious but somewhat regulate your drinking. I still have big sessions but even then I've slowed up a bit re a few things. Avoid shots. Avoid skulling and drinking really quickly. If drinking mixers, mix em yourself if you're at home or a party. As the night wears on people tend to mix drinks a lot stronger - you drink the same amount of beverage but with far more alcohol. Not an issue at a bar obviously.

2) This can be hard - try to avoid going to sleep blind drunk. I always find I'm better when I've sobered up a fair bit before sleep. I sleep better too which obviously helps. Weird tip that works for me - try to get some fresh air, especially at night it sobers me up. One trick I've done is to get dropped off by taxi etc at the nearest servo. I can stock up on drinks for then and the morning, and the short walk home has me feeling fresher when I get in.

Pretty hard if you're completely maggoted but if you can, helps.

3) Drink as mush as possible before bed - water, sports drinks. Big difference if you can somehow stay up for half an hour and do this.

As I said, can be hard, but these things have made a huge improvement to my hangovers.

My Friday involved beer, soju, vodka, tequila and bourbon. Probably the lack of sleep hurt me more, but mixing isn't the best. Might be boring but if I'm having a big night and the booze is just for boozing, I'll try and stick to vodka and soda these days.

Had a big one last night, got home around 5.30, watched the 2nd half of the soccer then crashed. Had a bit of a headache when one one up but I'm surprised that's it

Had a five day bender on a camping trip two weeks ago, didn't stop drinking when I got home and went to work 12 hours later. I was hungover for two days after being home and I'm 20. It was shocking stuff, but I went about as dumb as you can re: trying to prevent a hangover, and deserved the hangover and more.

Yeah I went real hard one Saturday on some shit, woke up four hours starting drinking and got back on more stuff that night.

Felt like a bus had cleaned me up that Monday, and took half a week to feel good again.

Booze just normally leaves me feeling like shit for the first hour or so when I wake up, and I might have a nap but that's it.

I can't sleep properly when gassed. Sucks getting in at 4am and waking up at 7am still pissed.

I can't sleep when really hungover. No matter how riled I am.

Water lads

I'm 28, can write myself off completely but keep my water levels up and feel 'fine'

The only issue I have is tiredness, I don't seem to sleep well when drunk anymore, but hangover feelings don't exist really

It's just your tolerance

If you drink more and more your hangovers are less and less

Disagree.

My alcohol tolerance is probably higher than it was 10 years ago, and certainly higher than it was when I was 18.

If I drank a dozen beers at 20 compared to 30 I'd have been more drunk but ended up less hungover. Hangovers definitely get worse with age.
