14 disposals and 23 hitouts from 56% time on ground. I'll take that.
Good. Pay him a million dollars. No one cares. Tell yourself what you want, but you actually don’t really need him more then you need Masten or Duggar. Replaceable.

Naitanui is a generational talent.

There are very few players in the league who aren’t replaceable. The only players on our list who I would say aren’t replaceable are Naitanui, McGovern, and Hurn.

Look at McGovern and Barass on each end with their shorts pulled up lol

Taking the piss. We are a laughing stock to them.

Time for a line in the sand at our club. Hope someone is brave enough to draw it

Forgive the intrusion but Peter Bell will turn it around in 2020. Has to work with what he inherited this year but any regular am radio listener will know how articulate and intelligent he is, not to mention his premiership knowledge. He knows what it takes but can do much... yet.

Only saying this cos a close mate of mine is a Dockers supporter since inception and i can sympathise with the last couple of weeks.

If you didn’t have McGovern, you wouldn’t have won the flag. Same with Hurn.
You didn’t have Nicnat, yet you won the flag. Hard to argue that. Once in a generational talent? So he averages 2 mark a game, yet he does tap work. Wow, that’s a shock.
Gawn is an once in a generational talent then. Regularly gets 8+ marks a game, 20 disposals and gets more taps.

Is there a single person on this board with an explanation for why Blakely plays defence? I just don't get it. I mean maybe he's just not fit enough yet but he's had 8 weeks back now and still only has very short stints in the middle. I'd rather he play 65% game-time as a full-time mid than 90% as whatever the hell he is now.

His major strengths all point to him being an inside extractor and we're desperate for more midfield grunt, PLAY HIM THERE. Throw Brayshaw/Cerra in there as well if possible. Our midfield isn't going to improve unless we run more talent through there, what we have now isn't getting us anywhere.

Beyond that skills/forward entries were our undoing. Would be great if Ross could tale some inspiration from watching a team that actually focuses on skills and make it more of a feature. You''re wasting your time grinding away with structures if the entire team can't execute basic skills like 30m field kicks, running handballs and kicking for goal. It's night and day in the competition right now between the teams that aren't skillful and the teams that are.

We aren't a young team anymore and the youth we do have isn't really improving much (at the moment at least). Most of our improvement is going to have to come from coaching and that's not looking so great at the moment.

Just wondering do we have anyone at Peel you know who can have an impact like a.young Cameron and kick four goals.

Given the opportunity and the freedom, both Carter and Sturt could. Neither will happen though. They’ll need to learn defence first and get that down pat, or learn to find it consistently 30 times at WAFL level with a good % of tackles before being given a game at AFL level most likely on the Hbf.

I don't know what is worse, the fact that some of them looked like they weren't trying, or the fact that some of them looked like they were.

Ross Lyon described some of the numbers behind Fremantle’s embarrassing western derby capitulation on Saturday night as confusing.
Emotional Dockers fans took to social media post-match with some more colourful words to describe the night.
In workplaces around the State this morning those supporters will have two figures in particular rubbed in their faces: 2 and 9. Two goals kicked and nine derby defeats in a row.
They are both numbers that are hard to get past for any member of the dejected purple army as they ponder a fourth consecutive season out of the finals.
Lyon would call that fingernail-deep analysis.
So let’s dive a little deeper and ponder some extraordinary other numbers that paint a picture of the 50th western derby as the perfect storm for the Dockers.
Fremantle’s tally in the 19.8 (122) to 2.19 (31) defeat was the lowest ever recorded in a derby.
The horror goal kicking improves slightly when you factor in that six of those behinds were rushed, although Cam McCarthy (1.3) and Brandon Matera (0.3) remain prime culprits.
Brandon Matera was one of Freo’s goalkicking culprits.

It’s when you break the team’s score down further still that things become fascinating.
The statisticians at Champion Data assess every shot on goal taken in every match. They take into account whether it was a set shot or taken on the run, the angle and distance and how much pressure a player was under when he got his kick off.
The detailed analysis considers all shots at goal, including those that fall short or sail out on the full.
They are then compared to similar shots from similar positions in the database to get a guide on which goals should be kicked and how often they get kicked.
According to the stats gurus, based on every shot taken at Optus Stadium the Eagles should have won the derby by just three goals, 94-76. West Coast shot the lights out and Fremantle shot themselves in the foot.
The Eagles conjured 28 points more than expected by nailing goals from everywhere and the Dockers kicked 45 points, or nearly eight goals, less than expected by spraying their shots.
That deficit for Fremantle is among the biggest ever differences recorded between expected and actual outcomes.

The Dockers kicked just two goals, from McCarthy in the first quarter and Michael Walters in the third, from 25 shots. Their shot-at-goal accuracy of 8 per cent is the lowest on record.
They are not the only numbers to do a Freo fan’s head in. Fremantle created 60 forward entries to 50 and remarkably, played 58 per cent of the game in their forward half.
The expected score analysis might give heart to Docker diehards this morning that the team hasn’t completely fallen apart.
But bad kicking is bad football and it will be cold comfort for those with long memories.
In Fremantle’s heartbreaking 15-point grand final loss to Hawthorn in 2013, the expected score based on all shots taken was 94-88 in the Dockers’ favour.
Fremantle had 29 shots on goal to the Hawks’ 24, including the last eight shots on goal of the grand final that resulted in 2.4 and two that didn’t score.
Six years on, Lyon remains one of footy’s most tortured figures as the only coach in VFL/AFL history to have twice led grand finals in time-on of the last quarter and not won a premiership.
Out of contract at the end of next season and short on wins ever since signing his last extension in early 2016, Lyon needs his players to find their kicking boots as badly as ever.

Amazing stuff really. The only thing that would have made yesterday's game more amazing is if it had have been reversed - if Freo were ridiculously accurate and WC stupidly inaccurate, that sort of 'luck' just doesn't seem to happen though does it.

As a one-off it does. If it happens over and over it is probably not just luck.

Two games ago vs the Bombers they were inaccurate but it was mostly JK. They’ve clearly worked on it.
