Two Questions

Its not a question of can we beat Carlton, its more of a question
of how much we beat them by.

If Moloney, Sylvia and Mclean make a statement in the first
quarter and put some fear into Judd, Murphy and Gibbs, then
it should go a long way to giving us a headstart against such
an up and down outfit.

This games won in the midfield, lets just hope we can get on
top early and come home with the points.[/quote]

lets not. Surely your not serious?

It's going to be a train wreck. Can't see us under 40 points, as much as I see the blues as being pretenders, they will be primed and ready to get revenge on us for kicking their ass in rnd 22 2007!

We'll get rolled but who cares. As long as it's respectable then what does it matter? I'd love to beat them but they're going for top 4 and will accordingly pump us.

I can't believe how much my views on this have changed in the last three months. *spit*

As long as Carlton don't screw us over, tank this game and make us lose another pick...they already did it once...

Trengrove > beating Carlton

There, I said it :(

I hate the system as much as the next guy but it's in place for at least this year and we are basically forced to use it because other clubs will too.

I'll too be happy when I'm watching Scully, Trengrove and Sylvia (a PP from the past) running around but I'd rather not have a system that encourages losing.

The system is a joke but you should take full advantage of it, just as we did.

I'm absolutely confident that we will win and win quite comfortably. Not withstanding that we are a better team (not trolling in the slightest, but the fact is that we are the better team at the moment), there is no possible way that your coaching staff will be coaching for a win.

You will lose the game and every game from here on in in this season but it'll matter little when you get the picks which will help set the MFC up very nicely for many years in the future.

We'll get annilihated.

Hope CJ plays though, it'd be nice to see someone take him out. Add Gibbs to that list as well please.

All we really want is for Chris Johnson to play

This.

Screw the game, play Jones, McLean, Bate, Miller, Sylvia, Dunn, Moloney, McDonald, Davey, Warnock and Whelan on him for the whole game. :thumbsu:

Do we really need all those players?

Just corner him with Sylvia, Moloney and Whelan and there will be nothing left of him.

Rivers, Petterd and Dunn can stand around the outside and make smart ass comments.

Hasn't made much of an impression at Carlton yet.

And he won't, the logic he used when he left the club shows he's a moron.

He leaves last years and probably (won't say definitely) this years wooden spooners because he's being made to earn his opportunities and wasn't getting as many as he would have wanted to go play a team that has a more developed list and thinks he'll get more opportunities.

Lots of blokes leave clubs if they are not getting a game to seek other opportunities (irrespective of the reason). I can't see the reason for all the hatred.

Was a poor move though, can't see him surviving on the Carlton list for long.

Just from a insiders tip, the players are really primed for this game. If the blues are thinking an easy 15 goal win, they are kidding themselves. Expect some fireworks this week.

Im expecting a 40 plus point loss. Even if we get oursleves 'up' for this game. (and why should we?) Carlton will be going at 80%

This game should have some intrest from MFC supporters.

It wasnt that long ago we found ourselves in a similar position to you guys entrenched at the lower end of the ladder. I even remember playing against you guys late in one of those black years and secretly hoping to lose.

As they say, dont blame the player - blame the game.

Should be some interesting interchange/ coaching moves/ selections leading into this game.

Take heart that in a few years you guys will be back up the top with Watts, Scully, Butcher and co running around in the red and the blue.

I just hope (for the sake of both teams) you dont win this game! It would be a terrible result:
  • Freo will get Scully. Dont send this kid to Fremantle. Its just not right. Please for the love of god dont allow Freo to get Scully.
  • The Bulldogs will get a top four spot. The Bulldogs? Pfft.
  • Melbourne lose a top 2 pick. Its your last chance to rebuild prior to a decade of compromised drafts. I like Melbourne for some obscure reason. I want Melbourne to succeed.

Dean Bailey's contract should be terminated immediately if we win any more games.

A clear directive from the board should be given to lose and lose well.

Freo's performance on Sunday was the worst I have ever seen. Nothing short of disgraceful. So don't read too much into the Dees win.

We need to win by around 15 goals to knock the Dogs out of the top 4 (and take their spot).

Swap you that result for picks 1 and 2?

I'd say thats fair for both teams...

Shame that you wouldn't face Geelong again in week 1 coz I'd love you to do what you did them couple of weeks ago

Actually if you can, do it in an elimination final...
