NVE -> Portland
Dale Davis & Dan Dickau -> Golden State

So the Warriors have basically given up Jamison, Jiri Welsch, Danny Fortson and Chris Mills for Evan Eschmeyer, Popeye Jones, Dale Davis and Dan Dickau.

Eric Snow -> Cleveland
Kedrick Brown & Kevin Ollie -> Philly

Sucks to be Sebastian Telfair.

The only loss there is Welsch.

I dont understand these trades, Portland are trying to cut salary apparently, so they trade a big expiring deal for another point guard ? Either way they are not good enough to make the playoffs with NVE or without him.

Cleveland have a ready set backcourt in McInnis and King James, maybe they wanna play a 3 guard rotation and Jeff playing the 2 when Snow plays the 1? Who knows....they got the best player in the deal though... Snow is sensational, maybe Philly want to have Iggy with the ball in his hands straight away.

Bit of a statement made by Philly. A few months ago Snow said trade me and play a running game or keep me and play Philly ball. Looks like Philly will run more this year.

Wonder how AI feels. He worked better with Snow than his coach.

I can't understand it either, maybe Portland are about to trade Stoudamire somewhere.

As a GSW man, I like this trade!
Still not sure about the 6 year signing of Fisher..

But this trade really puts the pressure on.. now NYK trade wont go through as we are already stocked.

Now will shop damp for a 3 or 4, or possibly a pack of cheetos.

Pacific title to the warriors this year! :D

NVE is capable of playing shooting guard and if the go with a ratliff randolph rahim NVE and stoudamire starting 5 with telfair backing up stoudamire and derek anderson backing up NVE they definently have a team capable of clinchin 5 6 7 8 seed in the playoffs next season

NVE has an expiring deal does he not.

...and I think Portland are going to surprise some people, provided they retain Miles at the right price.

I am, it's awful.

As for Philly, doing this means McKie will start, and Willie Green will take McKie's role off the bench. I also think you'll see Iguodala given some time running the offense, to introduce him to the position similar to the way LeBron was (although obviously with less minutes and pressure).

No he doesnt, he has a player option next season for $15 mil

I've heard that's a team option...

Time will tell, I guess.

Van Exel does have a PO, however it's for this coming year, not the following. So in effect, he does have an expiring deal.

Also, NVE will actually earn $11.8M this year.

This, from earlier in the year:

"Van Exel intimated that he would be willing to opt out of his option for the 2004-05 season, the Contra Costa Times reports. Van Exel's option is worth $11.8 million next season."

Ok guys sorry yea it is a team option, so it seems like just a swap of expiring deals, still doesnt make sense IMO because Portland become very think with just Stepania and Ratliff at Center, and even more clogged up at PG.

Players in there last year for Portland:

Stoudamire
Shareef
NVE
Ratliff

Watch out free agency next year.

Apparently Golden State are setting themselves up for the Yao sweepstakes in 06/07 :D

Go Mully!

But they will never have more available than Houston. Also why would Yao leave Houston?

Well apparently Portland are going to trade Reef to New Jersey for Kerry Kittles and Aaron Williams and a draft pick

Cleveland sent forward Tony Battie and two second-round draft picks to the Magic in exchange for Drew Gooden, Brazilian rookie forward Anderson Varejao and 7-foot center Steven Hunter.

Gotta feel for Allen Iverson. The guy has so much talent and so much heart yet Philadelphia have never, ever given him anybody to work with. Poor guy will never get a ring.
It happened to Karl Malone, Charles Barkley, Pete Maravich and so on. The question is, would he be willing to defer to another player if they got one in to help out or would he still have to have his 20+ shots a game? If so, he still wouldn't win a ring.
