Jack Crisp pick 40 in rookie draft in 2011
Josh Daicos pick 57 in 2016
Beau pick 44 in 2020
Murphy pick 39 in 2017
Jeremy Howe pick 33 in 2010

Don't forget Dane Swan - pick 58.

Dan Houston and Lachie Schultz also, wishful thinking on Murphy being current team unfortunately
I should have said recent :)
So Shultz 57
Dan Houston 45 in 2016 rookie draft
Even Lippa was pick 28
Can't find Jamie's, he was preselected or something like that for GWS.
If we add the last two season's draft selections then almost the entire squad are over 30's.
Exceptions Pendles, Nick, Sidebottom and Moore. Might have missed someone.
EDIT:
Perryman, Jack Buller ( 15)

Yeah true, they obviously aren't all A graders but there are plenty of guns taken later in the draft

Were they all weak drafts. Like the 2025 one where one club didn’t take a single pick

I like Prindable too. Was more a crack at someone moaning that he might ‘only’ be O’Bree level. He was a very good level

I haven't done any study on how strong the drafts were, we can't really say the 25 draft was weak just yet, none of them have played a game.
The McCreery draft was a terrible draft, we did well getting him late, especially after the terrible earlier picks we had

You've called out 7 names across a year year drafting period, and not all are A graders.

And I reckon if someone took the time, they'd be able to pull up 10 times as many names of people who didn't make it from 30+.

At best 1 in 3 makes it. At 30+ its closer to 1 in 4.

I wished the Lions made the same mistake with Ashlon as they did with his brother where they only took him in his final yr before drafting and never evaluated him properly but they have not made that mistake with Ashlon.

Earlier in this blog he was called Ashleigh and I thought that was his name and I have love it we had access to Ashlon as I think he is also a player in the making.
