You seem to be ignoring the fact that Burgess laughed about how hard he'd been flogging Welsh in his rehabilitation.I still think we made a mistake with him after he injured his foot (leg?)
We should have organised a fitness plan. Sent him to America, had him spend a few weeks working his butt off.
He should be just returning now, to watch the AFL finals and see what it takes. Experience the buzz etc..
He than has a break, and heads back into a big fitness program before preseason starts. By the time we return he's absolutely ripped and frothing to play.
Instead he is brought straight back in, is clearly unfit and contributes nothing.
Thilthorpe actually benefitted from his time out injured. The time was used to build bulk in his body and it helped fast track him. We could have done the same with Tyler.
Indeed, he has got rid of the pot belly and looks a lot trimmer.
Unfortunately, he is now playing against men and no longer dominating physically. He is way back in the pack and may be a bust. However, it costs little to keep developing him for a while and seeing if any skills remain in this period.
