I’ve just finished watching the game and was disappointed to see an incident involving Nathan Van Berlo and Chad Cornes, it was about the 25 minute mark ( 5 minutes 19 to go exactly) on the club side of the wing near the Crows kicking end in the last quarter, when a contest between VB and Cornes, VB punches the ball away from Cornes and it goes over the line, while VB was on the ground laying flat with his hands spread out Cornes drops his KNEES into VB’s back. I myself was disgusted in Cornes action and I was disappointed no free kick or no report was done because it was behind the play. I’m personally sick of this guys antics on the field and off and feel something should be done about it.:thumbsdown:

I bet you wished he played for you guys.....
it is funny how one's vision is impaired by one's passion for one particular team......

Obviously you condone this sort of play but what else can you expect from an Essendon supporter. And get your facts right I'm a passionate supporter but can see right from wrong.

And your comments as a "supporter" of a defunct bankrupt club is exactly why I can't wait for the game in 2 weeks time where we can smack your pretending mob's tails and end your run to the finals!

Bring on Round 20 so that you can start planning properly for your September holidays.

Terrible news for my Dream Team. There's no way Cornes' knees could withstand the force of VB's back so he'll be out injured.

But you can't see I support the Bulldogs. Very funny.

C. Cornes is a good footballer. C. Cornes will learn about hubris. Can't handle a one-on-one game from a good tagger. Should be a non-event come the finals.
I love the way the Poower continually talk themselves up. If their football ability could only back up those BIG mouths.

Cornes also attempted to stamp on VB's feet at a ball up 55m out from the Southern End in the third quarter.

He spent most of the game whinging to the umpires.

He couldn't handle having an opponent. The man is so easy to dislike.

He is a good player but **** I cannot stand the guy, the way he carried on during the showdown they won was just pathetic, and his pointing to the scoreboard was just childish. I wish he copped more crap from that.

Agreed the guy is a champion, but has a bigger ego than Buckley

Sorry relapse but the term Champion should only be reserved to those that not only are great players but in the way they conduct themselves on and off the field. One C Cornes lets himself down severely in the second part.

To me, I actually thought he was pointing at the fact we had just scored a goal.

Still the same as pointing to the scoreboard and things like that can come back and bite you on the bum, and very likely did on Sat night. It might have been a better idea to say something, not do a bit of finger pointing that can be captured on the many cameras around the ground.

Ah well. I guess we dont know what those two had been saying to each other all night. Made him look like a bit of a dick but in the end its pretty harmless stuff.

He was clearly just pointing out who kicked the goal to Van Berlo. They had just had a contest/half scuffle and Port ran the ball down and I think Ebert kicked a goal.

There is no way Cornes is going to say "look at the scoreboard" when his side is only 10 points up.

After watching the WA derby yesterday I have to say I dont think theres too much wrong with how anyone from either side (players and supporters) goes about their business.

Those Eagles and Dockers really hate each other dont they

For a club that is desperate to entice more fans, I sometimes wonder if the arrogant, borish behaviour of the likes of the Cornes', Williams, Brogan, Tredrea etc does more harm than good to the Port brand.
