Just thought I would get some info on Goldsack, couldn't find much on Bigfooty so I thought share what I have found. From what I have found, he looks like good value for a fourth round pick.

Recruited from: Gippsland Power - has played with Pendlebury and Thomas
Description: Highly skilled and athletic utility who can plug a hole anywhere. Has good speed and can push foward and score goals.

I do remember seeing him play with Daisy and Pendles now I've seen the photo.

Very unusual cat, which is why he's been substantially overlooked, but he does have talent and is worth a late roll of the dice. Should play pretty soon.

Says he kicked a couple bags of 5 when he played forward, and had 35 touches in a game twice when played midfield this year. Good late pick.

Born in my home town, Lives in the place I work...Might get some goss on the kid.

Nah, I will find out some info from my mates down in West Gippy. My best mate was gonna play for NNG (where Goldy or Loc Hansen played, can't remember) but his grassroots background was in the league, (actually is considering he refused to play TAC Cup and injured himself this month during a VFL trial). See what I can find on him. With Dawes injured all year, never know, may get a run.
 
With Hansen covering defense for the last two years, I wonder how many times Goldy had a chance to play KP down back.

Cruises around like a lanky midfielder, but I'd love to see if he can play a Scarlett style full back role.

From my mate (BC) who played against him, and had a chat with him only a couple hours ago at the local pub.

"Never turned it on for the Goon when I played against him and didn't look that good. Lanky, and is only about as tall as you (I am 6' 2). Wouldn't have thought he would've got drafted".

Another mate (SR) who played for the same team as BC; "Performed at inter-league but nothing special for the Goon"

He had a reasonable stay at Power, so he performs at the bigger level I guess.

BC is also worth quoting as that, as he was asked more than once by the Dandenong Stingrays and was asked by Gippsland once to have a trial but refused to as he would rather play grassroots. Got an offer from Casey Scorpians, but injured his calf in his trial and therefore lost his chance to impress.

I remember now too! Yep I liked him..I think I kept confusing him with Ellis

Looks like he smokes a bit of his 3rd round fellow Collingwood draftee.

At least he'll have a good nickname...I propose "moneynuts".

To be honest I would rather listen to the assessment of the CFC, rather than some internet bozo as to why he was drafted.

I quoted a mate that played on and against him, as well as seen him play several times. I am a news man, the quotes are reliable.

He was obviously drafted for size and talent TG. He also did have a pretty good season from all reports in under 18's, so don't read too much into my previous post.

I didn't say you were the problem in my argument, I'm suggesting the credibility of a mate who might have played against him once and saying he was average, when we would have had scouts looking at him a heap of times is the part that is unreliable.

played a couple of games at pakenham not the goon. Didnt do anything special at that level. Interesting pick for mine. Hansen is the goon lad and dominated in the one game he played this year.
