Roast Tyson Stengle sacked after ****ing up again

2 of those incidents were minor (including this one). The drink driving was the most dangerous to himself and the community.

They may be considered minor in the world however we are talking about AFL players being role models. He has had two stuff ups and now a third.

I’ll give you a tip, if I had done this in my employment I would have been marched out the door after the second incident. Driving was required in my employment therefore I couldn’t full function without it and drug taking, whilst the younger ones think it is the norm, it is not acceptable to an employer.

I'm sure the families of all the new draftees would be feeling more than slightly concerned about the environment their kids are going into after the publicity surrounding Worrall's drink driving and Stengle's second drug incident. Honestly, we just can't take a trick. Just as the club was enjoying some real post draft positivity from the media and supporters the sh*t hits the fan again. The timing couldn't be worse...

Take the positive, they all but one live in Adelaide.

Sure it could. On the eve of the season ... eve of the finals ... eve of the Grand Final.

This is the best time to get it sorted. Before it infiltrates a new year!

Feel for Tyson, he must be at a real low right now :-(

I felt bad for him the first time... young kid, new at the club, etc etc. The fact he's ****ed up again (and again) since that has caused me to run out of bad feels that I can afford to expend on him. Now I'm just pissed off at the effect he might have on the club. If he has been getting into the drugs again, and it was AFTER the previous incident with Crouch, at which point he KNOWS he is going to be under additional scrutiny... well, you start to reach the point where you have to acknowledge the possibility that sometimes you just can't help somebody if they're not willing to help themselves. Better to cut him loose rather than run the risk of him potentially influencing other players around the club. We've already go a big enough job ahead of us to repair the culture in the wake of the Burton / Pyke camp fiasco, we just cannot afford to keep people around who repeatedly destabilize the club.

Guess we won't be getting the "everything is awesome" email from Fagan that I was expecting in the next couple of days then. Might have to wait til just before Christmas.

Doesn't look like he's living with Tex going by Ch10 vision.

I find it very naive the boards reaction is mainly that of “he needs help”, “obvious psychological issues”, “the club needs to offer more support”.
Seriously , regular ingestion of certain drugs are common place amongst many professional people and non professionals alike, it could simply be a lifestyle choice ! If so, no problem Tyson, wrong choice of career mate, move on.
Not all people who indulge a bit of Colombian dancing powder are screaming out for help, but you roll the dice as a professional athlete.

He's clearly not a very intelligent guy, or these incidences wouldn't be so regular for him.

For that alone he needs help.

I think that's the issue, the risks as a professional athlete of doing this are so high - that most rational people would not risk the career over it. Stengle doesn't seem equipped to make that correlation or it's just totally blocked out for him, which does indicate he might need some help.

Not a lot of discussion of the problem that has been going on in the league for the last 20 years. So people are happy to throw a player that clearly has psychological issues on the scrap heap but turn a blind eye to the other half of the league including our club who are doing the exact same thing but are more discreet about it. Out of sight out of mind I guess. How bout the outrage club look at ways this problem could be dealt with by the league. The most important part in all this is his welfare and getting the lad some help. The club should be supporting him not making threats about delisting to appease the apricot slice hypocrites.
Step 1 is someone actually admitting in their heart of hearts that there is a problem and then genuinely WANTING help! It needs to be a two way street.

Given that this is his 3rd incident in the pace of 8 or so months, I am not convinced that Tyson truly believes that he has a problem nor that he genuinely wants to be helped.

You know that old saying....you can lead the horse to the water but you can't make them drink.

At what point to you give up? This cannot be an endless timeline that we are working towards here.

First and foremost, Tyson himself need to genuinely believe that there is a problem and that he genuinely wants to deal with it. Quite frankly, I have not seen it. A statement that he gets out there with the help of his management that he is sorry or ashamed that this has taken place and he will look right the wrongs doesn't exactly do it for me if I am repeatedly hearing the same thing after repeated incidents. Maybe being delisted is the wake up call that he needs.

Yeah... best for those parents to pull their precious little babies out of the AFL industry entirely...

Then they can go and make bugger all money in something like a good wholesome factory job (if there are any of those left) instead... I mean, they wont ever be introduced to/or discover drugs and alcohol and stupidity working in any other industry right?..

I'm of the opinion we shouldn't delist him over this and potentially fu** his life up going forward. What good comes of that? He loses a career and we lose a player.
I feel for him. But I have to ask who is f**king his life. The club or the individual. Cant put the blame onto the club. All the club can do is try and help him through this but they also wouldn't want him around the other youngsters who could easily be influenced by Stengle. As we dont know all the circumstances yet I will hold back my opinion but if this is another clear breach then I would delist him which would be a shame but necessary.

I’d say his time at the AFC is done which is sad as he is very talented player, but he obviously can’t handle being a pro athlete.
The AFC can’t continue wasting their time and resources on a player who’s clearly not taking their career seriously.

Worral was 0.054 or something like that - and he had spent the night at a mates place.

His was more bad luck than anything. If any parent is concerned about that they need to loosen the bubble wrap
