At some point someone's going to tell you what a fact is. When they do you should feel embarrassed.

To be fair Rachelle should be in that mix and next year, Rankine.Sad time to be a supporter when those 3 are your go to small forwards.. Makes me vomit.

Gonna be the number one thing I look forward to next year - seeing how good it will be with 2 potential elite small forwards. Both have natural kicking skills and evasion to match it with Stengle’s output in a few years time. One can dream..To be fair Rachelle should be in that mix and next year, Rankine.
Disengage mate, he has too much basic football knowledge. That awkward moment when 'I know you are you said you are' requires too high a level of articulation.
Good question. When we lost Eddie Betts, Stengle lost his mentor. Stengle went off the rails and maybe too easily influenced by others around him. I know that the club was trying to reset itself and didnt want the bad noise that Stengle was bringing. So he was moved on.What change? What turn around?
He stopped being at a crappy club is a pretty big turn around in fortune I suppose.
The change is he’s mellowed out on the drugs + being caught. Focusing more on his AFL games. Pretty damn obvious to see the difference between his 2020 year and 2022 with the Cats.

I wonder whether we could have done more for Stengle. I know we had lost Eddie but could we have done more. Clearly Geelong found a way to get Stengle back on track and they have been rewarded for putting in the effort. Would Stengle given us 50 goals in a season. I dont think so. We havent had the team to keep the ball in the forward line and Stengle has been surrounded by some great players. But you have to congratulate Stengle for climbing out of a shitty situation and reinvent himself regardless of the help he may have received.

Keep it private and it is all good in the AFL industry. It would be interesting to know how many nose beers the Geelong lads that won the premiership today will be enjoying over the coming days..
hope the local dealers in Geelong are stocked up ready for the increase in demand..
Ever asked yourself why Adelaide couldn’t straighten him out, and Geelong not only straightened him out but turned him into a premiership-winning superstar?
If you haven’t, then you should.
More to do with Eddie Betts. What do you mean Geelong straightened him out?
We had a semi-professional football club, WWTFC, also straighten him out. They deserve the kudos as well.
One thing that has seemed to been forgotten in all this, when Covid-19 came and our Indigenous program was cut (and McLeod let go), what sort of impact would that have had?
Eddie Betts was integral in bringing Stengle to the club. The champion small forward had just joined Geelong’s coaching department when he vouched for Stengle’s character when approached by Andrew Mackie and Stephen Wells. Betts and Stengle are cousins and played together at West Lakes.
Since moving from South Australia last November, Stengle has divided his time between living with Brandan Parfitt and Quinton Narkle just down the road from the club, and inside the Betts’ household in Melbourne, with Eddie, Anna and their five children, where he is treated like a prince.
"He is the most spoilt one in our family. I’ve got five kids and he’s the most spoilt one out of the lot of them. My wife spoils him and he gets whatever he wants when he comes home,” Betts said.
Stengle should have been immediately sacked instead of getting another chance to play in the SANFL for a year and earn back our trust after his 2nd chance with B.Crouch and if it was his idea to get the cocaine, it possibly cost us a band 1 compensation as no other club wanted B.Crouch after his 1st indiscretion beside the Saints and any power we had in the trade that we were going to match went out the door.
This isn’t just an issue of the AFL, but I dare say an issue of society. I’m sure most of us don’t give much of a hoot if someone smokes in their own backyard. But once it goes public, that someone’s public image would be distorted and be affected in some ways thereafter.Keep it private and it is all good in the AFL industry.
Gets made public, you are done for.

I also suspect we lured Stengle over from Richmond because of Eddie’s influence as well. Having good support network around you does play a big role in which direction you go in life.More to do with Eddie Betts.
They helped him at WWT as well.
This is the level of assistance Eddie and Anna provide him, essentially his parents.

Eddie also talks about Geelong’s club leadership culture, the strongest in the competition helping as well. There is no doubt this is a part as well.
The reality is, Stengle struggled when Eddie left. And got back on the rails when he Eddie and Anna helped him out again.
It is that personal family relationship Stengle needed from someone obviously resoects and loves. We could not provide that.

Yeah I agree illicit drug use is more of a bigger wave in the AFL industry. Most likely because there is a large fan base, and more probability of social media attacks (journos, opposition fans). AFL paranoia coupled with extreme fan expectations that players should be ideal role models and not standard people with typical human behaviours with typical human flaws. It is more white powder paranoia in the AFL industry.
Wayne Carey's media career is over after caught with it. No police charges. But ousted from the AFL industry.
Probably the most lenient thing he has done out of all his indiscretions.
Jack Watts in Germany. The mass PR exercise to convince us all it was merely Wisen Koks, and not Coke.

B Crouch cost us Band 1, no-one else.
You actually think Stengle was the one with the idea to get the cocaine?
The lack of negativity from Crocmedia Crew in us cutting him also a hint we as a club did what the industry expected.
As I said last night. Such an easy story to write to sink the boots into us again.
Could even tie in lack of support at our club, and a passing reference to the camp and issues with Aboriginal players since then.
But crickets.

how anyone could be prepared to make a call either way on that is incredible. Each as likely as the other.
