Roast Tyson Stengle sacked after ****ing up again

There’s a fair portion who’s entire view on the quality of the player is predicated almost entirely on whether our league leading footy dept values them enough at selection. No selection = no good. And it’s almost purely because our coaches say so.

Bizarrely the coaches are infallible until they get sacked, then the same people think they were awful and we’re better off without them

I think a narrative that has Crouch being led astray by Stengle is pretty laughable. That being said, I don't think it actually matters. Fully grown adults need to take responsibility for themselves.

And having acquired some illicit fun, there’s no way they’d have shared any with their teammates, who’d definitely never ask or want to partake

No sirree

And Nicksy, Roo and all the other line coaches wouldn’t partake in those sort of shenanigans either..

no sirree..

Definitely not. And no way they brought their own stash.

Definitely not. That never happens
And thats what makes this whole saga such a balls up..

The DUI was the bad that he did..

The coke was nothing.. half the bloody league, and its coaches etc etc, would partake in it every now and then or have done in the past, the problem with the coke was he got caught.

And the optics of that is something the crows didnt want a bar of.. they are terrified of any negative media.

Other clubs immediately rally around the player, tell the media to fxxk off and say the player is having some time off for “mental health” reasons. And thats where the whole thing ends. The media backs down in an instant as they become terrified themselves to keep on going on about a story that has now become a “mental health” issue..

Not the crows.. they instead throw their player under the nearest bus in some deluded attempt at making the club look tough, like its trying to build standards and culture…

Its just embarrassing..

But i’m sure Geelong are laughing their arses off about it. They paid absolutely nothing for a AA small forward that just helped them win a GF… brilliant for them..

OK. How about your argument consists of nothing but fantasy and invention, that you ought to have realised before presenting it behind the asinine preposition “what people don’t realise…”

your imaginings are not facts.

You mean like how you claim to know the terms of contracts you have never seen?

We all know about Stengle's 'indiscretions'......now in the light of that, lets say that the trade of Junior Rioli to Port falls through and there is a chance that we could pick him up; would anyone have any reservations about it given Rioli's prior history??

Port don't seem to have an issue with it.

The worst part is this:

You just know the club heavyweights were sitting there on Saturday twisting each other off about how Stengle would never have become this sort of player unless we gave him the kick in the arse he needed.

Absolutely zero doubt in my mind this would’ve been the prevailing club view.

There would’ve been not one bit of introspection, not a single shred.

Wonder if and how much the players respect the coaches. Stengle clearly didnt respect us, otherwise he wouldnt have let us down. You could feel the toxic tension in the Brad Crouch/Nicks interaction in the Amazon Prime documentary.

???..

So Brad Crouch and Nicks have a tough talk

Equals

Stengle didnt respect us?

Wow…. How the hell did you come up with that?..

Yep they would have taken no responsibility for their massive fail while probably snorting some lines. :)

My issue with Rioli (who’s done far, far, far worse than Stengle) is that I don’t think he’s very good

Well Junior Rioli has actually had the stuff in his system.

Was Tyson ever tested for drugs, not just in possession of them but actually tested?

none at all. Contract and acquisition price always need to be considered though.

Wearing his all Australian jacket

Premiership, all Australian, over 50 goals in the season.

None of which he would have been within a bulls roar of if he had stayed at Adelaide.

Of all the mistakes we have made with our list, the timing of this one hurt us bugger all.

Good luck to him, hopefully we have learned something from it … and don’t shy away from players that get drunk at their 21st in future for the good of our culture.

This is perhaps the worst take that gets made regularly on here

A 50 goal AA premiership player wouldn't succeed here

So to get a reasonable performer here we need to recruit only 100 goal, dual AA, multiple premiership winning standard players

Anything less is a waste of our time

Not what I was saying.

I meant the timing of it all, he would have been in a bottom 6 team … very hard to do those things from down where we were.

We would have benefited greatly on field by keeping him.
