Probably turn out being in the evening of his day in court for drink driving and driving an unlicensed vehicle .. a celebration of sorts
I bloke I played footy with back in the 80s was fronting court on his 5th drink driving charge. He was shitting himself about the very real possibility of getting locked up for at least 6 months.
He was given one last chance and celebrated by getting blind drunk at the clubrooms and driving home at 3am.

Was very good at the suns in 2011-15. 92 goals from 82 games. Then had a photo taken of him at tasmania taking some white powder.
Then goes to freo. From 2016-19, plays 2 AFL games late in 2017 and 20-25 WAFL games for Peel Thunder.
He constantly got Calf injuries.
Yeah he did get drunk at half time at a Peel game in 2017. Sad Really as he turned to Alcohol. Being constanly injuried didnt help his mental health. He felt powerless to Do anything at the time.
Then plays a handful of games at the demons in 2020.
Saying That, If there was a positive out of this, Harley Bennell was one of the main Reasons freo changes their Medical Staff and Strength and conditioning staff.
Partly because of Harley Bennell and to a Lesser degree in Michael Apeness constant knee recos, we got rid of Chris Webber, who was the head of our medical staff from 2008/2009 ish to 2020. He is now at Perth Glory.
We then Replaced Chris Webber with a High performance Manager in Phil Merriman. Glad we got Phil Merriman because I liked his work history. We got him from the demons as he was working there from 2018-2020. However it was his previous job is one of the main reasons we got him at freo. He was working at Hawthorn from 2011-17.
Phil wasnt the main medical staff member at the Hawks, he overlooked their strength and Conditioning stuff from 2011-17. So yeah a massive upgrade on Webber.

Still remembered the Harely Bennell trade(s) well.
I didnt mind it in 2015 as freo made finals but it wasnt the Freo trades of old where we traded the farm to get him or threw all the eggs in one basket.
Doing drugs is hardly murdering someone but you have to question his commitment, decision making and desire when he's on thin ice already and he takes the risk of doing drugs again. And around people he clearly shouldn't have trusted.
Sure it's his off season but if you're a young player desperate to make it and you've been caught out twice in 1 year, you've got to make it through 1 off season without partaking in risky behaviour...

I dont think anyone who isnt a footy nuffy is actually outraged at the drugs tbf. Hes just an idiot but given hes been done already not even 6 months ago the club has to save itself the PR and act
Or maybe he's a prick to his "mates" and had it coming. Or his mates are pricks. Or they weren't mates, and he participated in front of them regardless.
None of them are good outcomes for Stengle.

Wow, young man with loads of disposable income takes drugs. Children everywhere will be devastated that their hero Tyson Stengle has beem caught like this. Who cares?
Yes, was kicked off a Virgin flight for being intoxicated in 2017.
He was also fined $15k (by Freo) and banned from the club for 2 months for being involved in a nightclub brawl in 2018.

Clearly has no self control to make it at AFL level with so many strikes within the last year.
Won't play another game for the Crows as was on last chance saloon.

How hard is it not to do drugs in public view? Why does he think people go to private cubicles at clubs? Does he think they're all dropping 30 second logs?
Maybe they'll give him a break because he's obviously not the sharpest tool in the shed.
ALl clubs need to invest more in their second-tier systems so they can drop these guys from their AFL list, but still keep them in football system and on the programs they need but maybe can't afford or are too stupid to take up if they're just dropped altogether.
Maybe something for the AFLPA to look at. What happens to guys whose contracts are terminated? Does the club and AFL system just get to wash their hands of it all. Most of these kids have been in some sort of system since their early teens and simply don't know much/anything about the real world.

By all accounts Tyson isn't a bad kid.
He's not out there robbing and raping people.
He got caught drink driving, and even our all loving politicians and judges have been caught doing the same thing.
He has messed around with some recreational drugs, which again, alot of high profile respected white collar people have done the same.
His problem is he is too stupid to hide what he is doing very well.
His problem is he has been caught and then does another stupid thing and gets caught again, then does another stupid things and gets caught again.
He just doesn't seem to learn.

I don't understand how it creates so much discussion and people expecting a sacking. Caught in possession is a strike under the AFL illicit drugs code. There's mandated penalties, it's either strike 2 or 3, so public naming (bit late for that bit) and either 4 or 12 games depending on whether the come bust was his first strike. The lack of gap between the strikes is irrelevant as his his DUI. The AFL has tied their own hands. No doubt they want to inflict more pain, but unless Tyson chooses to cop it, I don't see how they can.
