Posted it many times but I want this back on the AFL website

They replaced it with a blog of some sort and it is no where near as good. The old system (the above one) was far easier to follow, it updating live as the draft was progressing.

Funnily enough this draft was just 6 years ago, but only 3 of the 10 players remain at the club who drafted them.

And they're all in the top 4. Huh.

I thought the recent coverage / fan access to the AFL draft last year was BS. I was frustrated as, as I don't have foxfooty, or kayo. As I could not afford it. So did not have anything to truly follow it on when they removed the draft tracker. So my favorite part of the off season was reduced to follow the odd twitter updates.

As one poster said above. Bring back the life draft table / tracker above. It was great to see who was drafted where, who picks next, one click access to draftee profiles, keeping an eye on pick movements etc. The NFL have kept theirs up and running for years. And also had a live draft broadcast for free on their home page for years, until last year where they stopped it.

A multi billion dollar industry should be making things more accessible for the fans, not less. No idea who sits at AFL website meetings and came up with the idea to remove something good. Even going back a few years more, the AFL main page stopped showing much about the under 18's results, and potential player profiles. Rookie Me Central has over taken and smashed the AFL website in regards coverage of the Under 18s and upcoming draftees.

Would love nothing more this Monday, than to have a live video feed open on one window, and a draft tracker/table open in the other like they used to have.

A couple of observations.

When you say multibillion dollar industry, are we talking per season?

My understanding is the AFL is still paying down the money they borrowed to keep the competition running in 2020 and 2021.

There’s been significant cost cutting at afl house, and…

We don’t have a sporting network the size of ESPN who are able to add all their bells and whistles in preproduction and postproduction, nor do we have the industry media types who watch and report on the NAB League, SANFL and WAFL colts week in, week out.
