I clearly support OX, not SKC, and so do not care for this inconsequential result, tipping aside (which i've failed to lodge every week and so similarly really do not care about).

Xavs dominated first half in every sense of the word, but didn't put bernards away due to some more terribly inaccurate kicking. Even so, Bernies were a new side after half time, and xavs lost their bench due to injuries, one season-ending, from some great tough-footy on Bernards' behalf. Bernies kept chipping away at the margin, and in the final quarter, outscored xavs even getting 6pts up with about 5mins to go with some great work from Ciantar who nearly single-handedly won them the match.
Xavs drew level due to a sloppy 25m penalty given away and it was a arm-wrestle of scrum-like footy for the last few minutes. Both teams a little bit lost after the game, but makes for an interesting re-match!

Cheers

Nice Recap. Very accurate and informative :thumbsu:

we all know that division 2 is a joke so can we please get back to what matters, premier division, tips for this week ?

Carey to beat ruppo in a very close game

uni blues to put marcellin back in their place

Skob over scotch in a very tight game

De La to smash bernards

xav's to walk all over uni blacks

ne thoughts ???

Agree with the Carey upset over Rupo, neither travelling particularly well, yet both coming off wins last weekend.

Blues by a nose over Marcellin

SKOB V Scotch - Another tight one, but i'll go with skobbers to break the drought against scotch down at Tigerland.

De La V Bernies, match of the round... toss of the coin, will go with the De La boys to fire up for another ripper match!

Xavs will comfortably find themselves back on the winners list in what looms as a dull affair...

Happy punting gentlemen

You have clearly said this to just stir the pot.....who ever wins will not win by alot, its going to be a very good game.

Who ever wins this will become the hot fav for the flag

Rupertswood
Uni Blues
Old Scotch
St Bernards
Old Xavs

Nothing too controversial here. Rupo despite some injury concerns should account for Old Carey. Uni Blues too good for Marcellin. Will be closer if Delahunty plays. Old Scotch too good for Big Kev's. Bernards will run rings around De La Salle. Old Xavs v Uni Blacks - blow out of the week.

here are my tips for this week,

Carey by 4 goals
Uni Blues by 15 goals
Skevs by 5 goals
Im going back on what i said yesterday after some info has come to hand Dela will win comfortably at home
Xavs to teach blacks a lesson and win by 10 goals

rupo over carey
blues easily defeating marcellin
scotch in a tight one beating skevs
de la comortably over bernards
xavs far too good for blacks

I'll have a go at selecting some winners:

Rupo too strong for Carey
Blues comfortably over Macerllin
Scotch in a tight one over St Kevins
De La to beat Bernards by a few goals
Xavs to thrash Blacks

watched the De La v Barn Yards game on the weekend, a very uneven contest.

7 goals to 2 in the first quarter the game was over. Shellshocked was the word to describe STB as the trudged over the the huddle at quarter time. Credit to the boys from essendon they did not lie down and made the remainder of the game a contest.

De La do play dairy bell very well and would have to be red hot flag favs.

Did de la pritty much have there best 22 playing.....why was it that dela were able to do what they did to bernards

Given the results at the weekend the rest of the season looks like a yawn to me.
Just like every other u/19s competition in the VAFA!!! except maybe Souths league, that seems close, but who wants to go watch that?
Full credit to De La, form reports sounds like they deserved their win and their ladder position, which i doubt will change.

De La are flying. From what i have heard they had at LEAST 5 of there starting 22 out of the side for various reasons. Alot of credit must go to the boys from Dairy bell for smashing STB. This weeks game DLS vs OX will be a massive one and i am predicting xavs to come out firing and take it right up to De La and I think take the 4 points.

de la, xavs, bernards are 3 very good footy sides and i think it will be anything but a yawn when all are full strength playing finals. Bernards played with over half a side out on the weekend, and have done so for the past few weeks

IMO, OX and bellars seem to be a bit ahead of bernies at the moment (not by much, however). also seems that bernies may have a bit of a problem with slow starts? could be very costly when more important stakes are involved later in the season.
oh, and having players out is no excuse at this point, every team has similar problems; i'd also wager that these problems will be existent come finals...
