Watched the last 10 overs of Australia's innings on Thursday and the first 15 overs of England's.

Watched about 15 overs of India's innings today.

Sandhu looks great. Real big frame, hits the deck hard. His first 3 overs were maidens on Thursday. Conway, the other opening bowler wasn't as impressive. Fairly quick but pret erratic, bowled a few 5wides today.

Can't remember the blokes name but he made 75 coming in down the order on against England. Wasn't anything too special really, just slapping around some pretty average bowling from the Poms.

Yep, then promptly dropped for 'bigger name' NSW players.
He was never meant to play for NSW this season. But at one stage NSW were down so many options they had to look at grade and he was the best option (he was like 3rd on the run scorers board) so he got picked. So it wasn't a surprise to see him over-looked in the 2nd half of the season.

edit I mean, even for the match he actually played in, he was only a last minute call-up

For the last couple of games he was, but I'm pretty sure we would have over-looked him anyway. He wasn't contracted at all, not even a rookie contract, so to me it seems they mapped out a path for him and it didn't involve him playing for NSW this season. Obviously he did, and he played a great innings, albeit against a very weakened WA attack. But yeah, he wasn't dropped for me, they just went back to the plan.

****! What a semi there. Patterson man of the match with 76 in a four run win.

Cummins, 1/37 off 8 and 50 not out from 24 balls.

That sort of hitting is just what our ODI is after. And KP has scored in both matches he better player more matches next season.

Anyone actually watched Patterson much? What's his style/technique like? Strengths/weaknesses?

Seen a small amount of him. Very tall, lanky batsman. Bit loose, but hugely talented. Not unlike the other KP actually, from what I've seen. All that said, he's very young, his technique will be refined and modified in the coming years.
