Yeah Google's tracking is ridiculous. I recently got a new laptop and phone, the amount of crap I went through to turn off data storing and the like was concerning. Not to mention all the permissions I should allow for maximum performance capacity.

Enjoying the significant reduction in price for uber pool. Most trips are under $5 for me using it. Cheaper than public transport and still faster too. You might have to walk a few minutes at pick up/drop off but that's it.

Had a mate call an uber the other day. Driver just drove past him, clicked pick up then continued to onto the destination as normal? wtf is that about? Obviously he put in a ticket with Uber, got his money back and all that but why would a driver do this? They literally made the trip anyway, why not pick him up?

Google spies on you, collects your data, optimises searches based on who pays the most rather than what is the most relevant result etc etc
Very concerning with the amount of sites, platforms and services that Google has acquired and integrated within its system. Apparently, even Gmail isn't excluded, and that doesn't surprise me.

And makes you dumber.Critical thinking. Differentiating garbage from possibly factual. Blurring lines of fact and fiction.
But hey. Presto. I search. I learn.

Do uber drivers do uber eats aswell ?

Seen a guy doing uber eats wearing willy wonka pj pants , well they looked liked pj pants.
It's an opt in thing

I was in the city for an event earlier this year, maybe 50m from flinders street station by the time it wrapped up.

Went on uber to get a car home. Surge pricing, some insane amount. Messaged my wife to tell her I’d be late home by the time I got a train.

She messaged back “you’re in the city, amy cabs around”.

I deadset forgot cabs were even a thing, rolled over to the cab tank (which had 0 people in it) jumped in and away we go.

I’m not sure I know anyone still using Uber at this point.

I don't use them but I know Uber's are still very popular in the suburbs when you're not near taxi rank's.

Quite a lot still use the taxi's when they're easily accessible though.

I have the Uber, DiDi and 13cabs apps on my phone and generally just cross-reference the prices. Rideshares are still mostly cheaper than cabs, but I'll often grab a cab during a surge period.

DiDi also give out a lot of short-notice, timeboxed promo codes that occasionally jag me 50% off a trip - they're a nice bonus

Uber/Ola are utter garbage now. So many arseh*le drivers

Accept a fare then not show up, waiting for you to cancel. Or deliberately drive the wrong way. Why?!

It isnt cheaper any more either

I had recently that got to my street from 10 mins away and then rather than turn left to get me he just kept driving and cancelled. Wtf

Of course "customer service" is non existent. Its all automated responses that get you nowhere (Ola especially here. There's is a disgrace).

What was sensational when it started has become worse than a taxi. Other than knowing what a fare will cost prior to the ride there arent that many advantages to ride share now. Short trips in cbd still good
