Son’s not going to be judged at a World Cup because no one expects South Korea to do anything special. Sterling had a dreadful World Cup. It’s the pinnacle of a players career and the biggest stage to bring your A game. Sterling was probably England’s worst player at that tournament
Doing a lot of moving the goalposts here Welly.

Not at all. These are facts. You are trying to drive me down the road of saying sterling is shit, when I believe he’s not. In fact on his day he’s very good. But he can also be rash and lacks composure. He’s massively helped by playing with exceptional players at Man City. Son is just overall a better player, that’s all I’m saying here

Being good in the A-league isn’t going to make anyone sit up and go “this player is world-class” though is it? I don’t think there are many instances of Asian players excelling in world class leagues though. There’s nothing inherently wrong with having an unconscious bias. We all have it. If you see a white bloke line up in a 100m final you’re likely to subconsciously think this dude is going to get smoked.
Watching Valencia vs Celtic and there is a really promising south korean, Lee, playing for Valencia. Looks a player.

There used to be a good one at United many years ago that we all forgot about. Young Lee Sharpe :tearsofjoy: That was the gag back in the day because commentators etc would literally always refer him as that. Ah I miss the days of casual racism

Surely you're old enough to remember Lee Won Pen.

Park Ji-sung. And who could forget the always brilliant Dong Fangzhuo? Had just as good a United career as Tom Bugg had with Carlton.
