Not really the result Liverpool were after. Owen scored again, he is in rare form. Should be enough to get through with a home win, but I'd prefer to do it easier than that. Le Tellac and Diao started.

Good win for Barcelona, lucky win for Man City, and poor results for Southampton, Barcelona and Blackburn. Josip Skoko and Emerton both scored in the Blackburn game.

In more amusing news, Leeds have scraped through in the Care-less Cup after Paul Robinson scored an injury time equalising header, then saved a penalty in the shoot-out.

Nice to see Newcastle hit some form, things will surely start to turn around. With Arsenal in disarray at the moment surely we can steal at least a point.

That's promising... but then again it's only NAC Breda.

Now that we've finally got some goals flowing the trip to the Library should be interesting... still think we'll get stuffed though - apart from that 3-1 a couple of years back, we're usually deadset rubbish there.

Errr, it was not a great performance by any means but we had 74% possession, 25 shots to 5, 13 corners to 2.

Luck didn't play a great role, if anything we were unlucky not to score more.

I watched this game on soem Turkish TV stations via the net (average quality, small size, Turkish commentary, decent speed) and let me say, we were teeeeeeeeeeeeeerrible. Our defence was appalling - Amoruso in particular.

We looked lost with the ball and gave it away to easy. Youla is a very nice striker for Genclerbirligi.

With Lokeren having 2 DanGoals in the bag, you'd expect Lokeren to win the home leg and end a MASSIVE european adventure :D

If we go into the next game as half@rsed as we went into the last it is a distinct possibility.

I am starting to see Dan's point of view about away goals, absolutely disgraceful that Lokeren that we could lose in three weeks time by exactly the same margin as Lokeren lost last night and we would be knocked out. Something has to be done about this rule ;)

We've made it a little hard for ourselves but I'm still confident we can progress. If we play like we did in the first 20 minutes we'd be down 3 or 4 goals in a premiership game. As the game progressed we were by far the better team but after scoring Steaua were quite understandably happy to sit back and absorb the pressure.

On another note, pathetic effort by Southampton to suddenly force supporters from around the world to pay for the privilege of listening to the live commentary. After listening to the game against the Wolves on Sunday morning, I was quite prepared to wake up at 4:45 this morning to listen to the game only to find that from here on it is unavailable unless you pay.

Very little TV coverage, having to pay 30 quid to subscribe to SaintsTV for the prilvilege of listening to something that has been free for the past few seasons, as far as I'm concerned it has put a bit of a dampner on our excellent season thus far. Without any warning. Not happy at all

No wonder he hasn't been online much of late.

He's been lobbying FIFA over that absurd rule where "in the event of a tied aggregate, the team with the least number of home goals progresses". ;)

1 DanGoal to nil would suit me nicely. Let's hope as many teams as possible qualify on away goals.

Pretty shocking result for Liverpool. Thank christ for Micky O, actually using his head this time (and grabbing the record in the process) Apparently Diao was terrible, TLT was good early on and then faded and Murphy has been added to our injury pile.

All in all, a bad result but pretty confident we can wrap it up at home.

Fair effort to mind that on the web!

Amuruso has been caned in the press for his performance - I don't think he was a good signing.

Nice cross by Riise for Owen's goal.

How long is Murphy out for?
