Seems after all the hysteria about losing Alexis / Ozil was misguided. Cant think of a more ineffective pair of footballers earning 750k / week between them, the footballing world has gone mad.
Yeah the hysteria of losing both for nothing really has killed us at the end of the day, would have been better to lose Ozil for nothing. Gazidis and Wengers overlooking of not resigning players earlier has really screwed this up on the way out the door. Still suffering for it this year with Ramsey and to a lesser extent, Welbeck.
He really did well to capitalise on the situation. Arsenal’s poor contract management and Alexis leaving etc all played very favourably into Ozil’s hands.
And then shortly afterwards a new manager joins who doesn’t really have Ozil fitting into his plans. It’s a very unique and unusual set of circumstances at Arsenal.
In hindsight, both of them leaving wouldn’t have been as drastic as it perhaps was once upon a time.
