Happy for Charles, always great to see a long term grinder become champ. He’s developed beautifully from a one trick pony to a balanced dangerous fighter. Probably has more tools to finish fights than a lot of champs before him.
Would love to see a Khabib fight with what Oliveira could do off his back.

colour me a cynic but i’m very doubtful that the ufc:
(a) is stoked that olivera won; and
(b) will ignore a fighter’s drawing power and will just match up the most deserving guys moving forward.

I doubt it matters for the next while. Star power or not Oliveira has the tools to hold the title for a while unless Khabib comes back.
