Very average card but better than it was looking a month ago:

As discussed in other threads, the myth that Nate is the guy who constantly upsets the favourites and ruins the UFC's plans just doesn't stack up. A favourable match up with Conor aside, he's generally been dominated exactly as expected by those he's expected to be dominated by. See the McDonald, Benson and RDA fights and times it by a thousand here I think. I love the guy and I hope he makes it a fight, but everything is pointing to a lamb being led to its slaughter.

Some pretty fun fights elsewhere, especially Holland vs the over-looked Rodriguez. Like Nate, hoping Tony has some fight left in him, but not liking his chances.

EDIT: Ignore most of the above. Revised card added below.

Khamzat is going to make him the UFC's sacrificial lamb, but I hope Diaz gets the win, the way he has been treated is appalling.

Can't believe Ferguson is back in the cage already either...guy needs to just give it away.

Leech should be ending Ferg at this point. KO paid $3 so i took that

On D-rod at 2.80 too. Holland is horrifically overrated imo

Chimaev should finish Nate. Nate is tough as * but he cuts easily and can see a ref/doctor stopping it. Hard to see a way he wins but hope he does

I honestly thought that he would have been given a 6 month suspension due to the brutal nature of that ko head kick

Decent card for a fight night. Surely no one is buying this

Can't believe they have Ferguson and Diaz on the same card at the same weight and not against each other. Perfect farewell fight for both of them, fans would love it, but they're getting sacrificed to build hype of a kid.

Holland fight should be great, Chris Barnett is always entertaining too

Ok so Khamzat's team were all fighting Kevin Holland's team and then Nate's team also got involved.

Between Nate and Khamzat there were 100 people roughly fighting one another. Throw in Holland's and it's a complete massacre lol.

Dana explained it here;

Sounds like a bit of a blow-up. Cancelling the PC is big, but the publicity out of the whole thing is a huge win for the UFC. They obviously still need him to win, but having match-ups with Holland and Costa hyped and ready to go is big for the UFC's plans for Khamzat.

Back to the event: the catchweight fight between Almeida and Turkalj is one to look out for. Almeida looks a serious prospect and with the short notice, undefeated UFC debutant Turkalj opting for 220 lbs, I think it's actually a really good spot for Almeida. Obviously he wasn't going crazy with his weight at HW, being able to make 220 now. Almeida might be a star, but if Turkalj pulls it off he immediately becomes one to look out for.

Cancelling the PC generated more press than the PC ever would have

Heard about Almedia years ago yet ive never seen him fight. Will keep an eye out

Yeah no doubt, but a Nate Diaz PC, let alone with Khamzat, Tony and Kevin Holland also involved, is a particularly big one to cancel.

WTF has Khamzat been up to????

Missed weight by about 7-8 pounds.

Main event probably won’t even happen…..sucks.

Real gangsters make weight

Apparently Diaz won't fight him as he doesn't think he even tried to make weight

What a cluster *.
Khamzat missing weight is suss.. It's not a title fight so missing weight doesn't matter so much and it's Nate's final ufc fight so they would think Nate will take the fight regardless so he can move on.

Diaz v Ferguson * yes!

This card has been more entertaining than the original fights ever could have been

Also how the * do you miss weight at heavyweight.

Hope chimaev is off the card completely and is made to start at again in middleweight. Too busy getting embarrassed by Costa mid week

Cancellation of the presser 100% because it was probably tracking poorly. Darren Till didn't think there was much going on.

That weight though, very suss. Surely was blatant.

Rumours of Poirier too, but hope they do Ferg and Diaz as well.

No video of the "madness" backstage is an interesting one.

I wouldn't be surprised if the ufc just didn't want Nate to speak.
