Very impressive knockout wins for Sydney's Tyson Pedro and Brisbane's Justin Tafa. I don't think it's a stretch to suggest Tuivasa and Adesanya can win by knockout as well. Sydney has been truly spoilt today with an awesome card full of exciting fights involving locals and some remarkable finishes so far. Our superior striking in this part of the world is why we're starting to take control of the MMA game despite the drastic difference in population with the rest of the world. So exciting.

Shoutout to Carlos Ulberg too. Very close to getting the knockout but when he was challenged and had to defend some grappling/wrestling he flipped the script and turned defence into offence to get his own submission finish. What a dangerous prospect at LHW!

Time for Ulberg to step up to a top 15 opponent.

Bit harsh. Adesanya is probably only second to McGregor in terms of UFC draws right now and is facing a top 5 opponent in Strickland. Tuivasa is a top 5 HW who is also very popular and he's facing the number 7 contender in his division. Kape is another top 10 fighter in the flyweight division and he was supposed to fight a top 5 guy in Kara-France but he's currently in the middle of a banger fight with Dos Santos anyway. I'd even go as far as to say some of these guys who aren't ranked should be (like Ulberg) but circumstances relating to the covid years conspired against them and stunted their climb. Ulberg fights at a top 10 LHW level in my eyes but he's currently not ranked so I guess you could say on paper it's a slightly weaker card but I think it's definitely passed the eye test in my mind.
