Disagree . 12k plus 12 k on an undercard with the chance of a bonus is a joke . Some undercard fights are exciting and brutal. . That’s my opinion. AFL rookies get more than that and they don’t have to pay bills to train , diet and recuperate. The club ( ufc ) pays .!

74k for a win an bonus and you have no obligation ever to train or fight again. You can literally work a full time job if you want comparing it to AFL rookies is a such a bad comparison

If you get the bonus you can make a bit of bank . Otherwise is 12 k turn up at best. That’s for undercard fighters sure. Sometimes they put on a show. Imo

A show that no one gives a duck about unless the fighters promote themselves. 12k and they can fight every single weekend if they want and are healthy.
These guys could easily leave and make a career being nobodies for Bellator unless they win a title.

Curtain jerkers fighters shouldn't be making 200k a year to fight 3x. That's just ridiculous

I told ya. Those guys need to promote themselves. They can't just make excellent money walking in off the regional scene and fighting in a stadium of 1500 people.

KO someone in the first round you make 75k for one nights work. Absolutely nothing wrong with that at all.

Some undercard fights are amazing but so are so local club shows. That isnt what pays the bills, bums in seats do and curtain jerkers dont do that. Boxing undercards can get as little as $1500 on a Canelo card.

There is also nothing stopping a prelim fighter working like SANFL players do. That's essentially what they are on 12/12 contracts working their way up. Forgot his name but a lightweight boxer a couple years back won a world title then went back to his construction job on the Monday.

Some of the comments here are brushing over what it requires to be a professional fighter. Unless you're a freak talent, and those obviously exist, you're going to find it almost impossible to work another job. These guys need to train 15+ times a week, not to mention the time needed to focus on diet, recuperation etc. Then there are the costs. I'm sure most here have at least been part of a gym and trained some form of martial arts. It's expensive as hell, and that's without a trainer, coaches, manager etc.

Knocking people out in Round 1 every weekend until you're a star sounds amazing, but not exactly realistic.

What's your point? If you wanna become a scientist you have to go to school and it costs you money. Doesn't mean you should make life changing money immediately

Training morning + night for 2 hours a time (max) gives you 20 hours left in the day to work and you wouldn't need to work every day

It's common in boxing to work + fight, some NBL players have jobs, SANFL players work, lots of BBL etc. Why would the fight game be different?

Sell tickets, earn more. I maintain fighters are underpaid as a whole (should be 40% of revenue or whatever standard is in sports) but just not the lower-level guys. Even taking a boxing approach to revenue splits would be way higher than 40% and more money but it sure wouldn't go to Cody Durden
