Nice to see Elvis the Aussie get the W.

His only one in the UFC I'm pretty sure. From memory, he got a title shot on the back of that only go get brutalised by Tito.

The Barnett/Rizzo fight on that card was awesome and had a great ending. The main event was frightening as Tanner looked dead after that slam!

yeah im upto the Jens fight now funny back then it was called bantomweight, but now known as lightweight. so many cool things to take a young Dana excited, fighters excited how everything was going to change was a good vibe

That's a very impressive win for Sinosic and yeah looking at his record, it was his only UFC win. He went 1-6 in the UFC, but look at who he fought.

It's always interesting seeing that loss by TKO (chin to the eye) on his record. Haseman won two fights in one night by that. :D

Cortney Casey, who fought Calderwood on the last UFC card, won her most recent fight before her UFC call-up by TKO (knee to the groin). There's still some funny methods of victory in this sport.

Gave most of the card a watch. Only watched the 1st couple of rounds of the Lightweight title fight though. Something that stood out was how lightweight has changed so much more than heavyweight over the years. Barnett/Rizzo wouldn't really look out of place today in the UFC at heavyweight, but Pulver/Uno (1st 2 rounds anyway) would at lightweight.

Dana White with some hair and crooked teeth looked really weird. Mike Goldberg said something like "speaka tha Portugasa". He hasn't changed :D

Hitting the back of the head was still allowed. Wasn't long after that it was banned, right?

Hoffman/Robinson was clinched against the cage without much going on for almost the whole fight until they break and bam KO. Horn was in Sinosic's guard not doing much until he got submitted. We see far less inactivity against the cage and on the ground today.

UFC 31

second Zuffa card we see it start with fireworks and the lot. we see lots of names we all know matt serra, Chuck and Randy. Pat Millitic you can already see the development in place. Weight divisons have become more structured and the belts look more of what they look today

History
The card was co-headlined by a Heavyweight title bout between Randy Couture and Pedro Rizzo, and a Welterweight Title Bout between Pat Miletich and Carlos Newton. The card also featured the first appearance of former Lightweight and Welterweight champion BJ Penn, former Welterweight Champion Matt Serra, and Kevin Randleman's first fight at 205.

UFC 31 again saw reformed weight classes, adopting the current standard. Bantamweight was renamed Lightweight and raised from 150 to 155. Welterweights were now at 170, Middleweights at 185, and Light Heavyweights at 205.

Dana White has said on many occasions that this was one of the best fight cards ever mainly due to the main event and the bout between Matt Serra and Shonie Carter which involved the infamous backfist finish.

This event also saw the professional debut of future multi-divisional UFC Champion B.J. Penn.

UFC 32

Just finished watching this its amazing how fast the production is moving since Zuffa has taken over the intro looks more like a WWE event that what we are use to today. we start to see a heap more celebrity cage side, UFC has employed Carmen Electra to be a spokesperson for the ufc. and guessing around that time that would of been a huge move. Fights were pretty good we see more familiar names, and Co main is a 22 YO BJ Penn looking sensational, he is young and you can just see where the mma community just fell in love with him. Tito Headlines for the second time since Zuffa come into play, against Aussie Elvis and there is a nice little spot about Sydney. You can really see how Zuffa are really going all out, thinking just before the Zuffa the UFC had some dark days and the sport is still fighting to be a legit sport, you see interviews with the Athletic commission. You just see things are happening plus we see the launch of the home Video and the Announcement of the First PPV on next event.

The card was headlined by the first Light Heavyweight Championship Bout (previously called "Middleweight") between Tito Ortiz and Elvis Sinosic.

The event also featured the first appearance of future Heavyweight Champion Ricco Rodriguez.

UFC 32 marked the last appearance of longtime commentator Jeff Blatnick, who had been with the UFC since UFC 4.

The event poster shows the towers of the World Trade Center in the background. Less than 3 months after the event, they were destroyed in the September 11 attacks

UFC 33

The card was headlined by three title bouts, Tito Ortiz vs. Vladimir Matyushenko for the Light Heavyweight Title (Vitor Belfortwas unable to fight due to arm injury while training), Dave Menne vs Gil Castillo for the new Middleweight Title and Jens Pulver vs Dennis Hallman for the Lightweight Title.[1]

UFC 33 was the first mixed martial arts event sanctioned by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, under the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts, which was first established by the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board in 2000.

UFC 33 was considered a disaster by many, failing to captivate the new pay-per-view audience due to the large number of decisions on the card – UFC 33 was in fact the first event where all main event fights went to a decision. The Ortiz-Matyushenko and Pulver-Hallman fights in particular have been judged the two most uneventful five-round title fights in UFC history by some metrics.[2] Additionally, the broadcast ran over and cut out early on many cable systems (in the middle of the Ortiz-Matyushenko fight). After this event, the UFC reduced the number of live fights to five and never again scheduled three title matches on a UFC card.

During the post fight press conference for UFC 111, in response to questions about a perceived boring fight betweenGeorges St-Pierre and Dan Hardy, UFC president Dana White commented that "UFC 33 is the only one I can remember where every fight sucked."

Years later at the UFC 149 post-fight press conference, after a similarly lackluster card, Dana White quipped, "It felt like I was at UFC 33 again".

In 2013 following UFC on Fox 6 post-fight press conference, Dana White once again referenced UFC 33 as "The worst show we've ever had".

UFC 34

The card was headlined by two Championship Bouts, Randy Couture faced Pedro Rizzo for the Heavyweight Title, and Matt Hughes faced Carlos Newton for the Welterweight Title.[1]

UFC 34 marked the first appearance of future Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir.[2]

The broadcast had technical issues, as the commentators could barely be heard, consistently being drowned out by the crowd and ring noise.

During the Matt Hughes and Carlos Newton fight Hughes was clearly heard telling his corner several times that he "was out", after winning the fight by TKO. This conforms to Carlos Newtons' assertion that he believed Hughes was "out", thus collapsing and leading to Newtons head colliding with the canvas.

The event was seen live on pay per view in the United States, and later released on home video.
