Nahh its just ch 10 trying to beat it up a bit...Anyone who gets down to training has seen cogs in the rehab group, still going along on track for round 1....No need to panic..

They didn't say anything more than we already knew
He's still on a modified program and won't play the Wizard Cup in order to try and be ready for Round 1
Nothing about reinjuring himself, OP is a problem you have to constantly manage

Yep,

The story was a crock a

...albeit with the usual tabloid TV hook before the break...(now you've watched half a dozen ads for tampons and whatever, Coggers seems absolutely unconcerned)...

Then again, 'Mark Coughlan Going Ok' isn't gunna sell too many Heralds!! :D

he was over here in WA late last year doing some work at a particular school, he will be lucky to play at all this year....

i didnt need a news report to tell me that asked the man myself last year....

Certainly takes the wind out of the calls for Coghlan to be the next captain after this year's incarnation.

I think it is time to lower the expectations of the kid rather than outright panic. Looks like they want him to play this season, but I would expect that he will be more of an impact player and not the full time midfield presence some are expecting. Hopefully that still leaves him as a valuable player on our list.

The big concern is whether or not he'll manage to be truly free of groin problems in the long term. I'm sure they would be managing his condition with this in mind, but I'd honestly be happier if he didn't play at all this season if that's a real risk.

Agreed. Cogs is the most vital Cog (excuse the pun) in our long term re-building process. I would be happy if he only play say 6-12 games this season, with limted midfeild time as long as he was 100% 2006 onwards.

He was involved in full training today and seemed to be moving well. Chaff and Sugar with to others unknown to me were the ones not joining in and only running laps. Hartigan (I think) pulled out of team training and started the laps 1/2 way thru the training session.

i was talking to cogs at the christmas fans training night and he told me he was going to be fully fit and rewady for round 1.
maybe hes done something else to it
