What happens if Bojo gets more than 100 but Sunak has absolute majority? Does it still get put to the Tory members (who may still vote for BoJo)
It would still go to the members apparently.
So they could end up with a leader that more than half the caucus actively doesn't want.

To a neutral observer, absolutely. Coronate Sunak quickly, get everyone behind him, move on and freshen up.
It's fair to say that any MP not backing Johnson would have serious contention with his return and forcing them back on their renunciations three months ago. 100 nominators isn't even 30% of the party, so probably 70% of them feeling this way is a recipe for disunity and disaster.
But up to 62 endorsements for Johnson already from MPs who either don't see this, or don't care. The line-up of his backers is the usual cavalcade of stubborn morons within the party: Nadine Dorries, Rees-Mogg, Christopher Chope, Peter Bone... the list goes on.
