Not necessarily looking at who has performed the best in a grand final, but who would make the most dangerous GF Team

I'm not going to THINK or DO. Too bloody hard. I've got a "harfa" just reading some of those sides.

Not much love for Williams in all of this. Wouldn't make the final 22 I don't think, but he was very important in 08. Cool and calm and delivered when we needed him too. Very under-rated performance on the big day.

Dust off the 89 GF too. If it wasn't for Ablett kicking 9, Darrin Pritchard would have been close to BOG. He has to be in.

Coach: Jeans
FB: D Parkin, K Moore, G Ayres
HB: P Knights, C Mew, L Hodge
CEN: R Eade, T Wallace, R DiPierdomenico
HF: G Buckenara, D Brereton, L Franklin
FF: L Matthews, J Dunstall, P Hudson
Foll: D Scott, M Tuck ©, J Platten
Int: S Crawford, C Langford, B Edwards, G Arthur
Emg: J Morrissey, B Keddie, C Rioli

Couple of really difficult selections

Jeans V Kennedy for Coach
K Moore V C Langford for FB
Knights V Mew for CHB
Matthews V Tuck for Captain
Wallace V Edwards (V Mitchell) for Centre
Platten V Crawford (V Crimmins) for Rover
Hudson V Dunstall for FF

I really like the emergencies, Morrissey and Rioli would be carve it up if selected as late inclusions and Keddie famously kicked 4 goals in the last to win us ‘71

Jarman's best finals football was with Adelaide, but he'd be another terrific inclusion

Mission Impossible is now impossibler.:D

If you're tiring of watching other clubs tearing themselves apart in the trade week colosseum, have another crack at it. Here's mine:

FB: Gary Ayres - Brian Lake - Kelvin Moore
HB: Luke Hodge - Chris Mew - Peter Knights
C: Jordan Lewis - Brendan Edwards - Robert DiPierdomenico
HF: Graham Arthur - Dermott Brereton - John Hendrie
FF: Leigh Matthews - Jason Dunstall - Paul Dear
FOLL: Don Scott - Michael Tuck - John Platten
INT: Gary Buckenara, Colin Robertson, John Kennedy Jnr, Stuart Dew
EMG: David Parkin, Bob Keddie, Peter Crimmins
Coach: Alastair Clarkson

My team gives more weight to big performances on the day (in the case of Crimmo, also a nod to the impact he had in 1976). I also try not to name players out of position, hence why Lake has bumped Langford Snr clean out of the side.

It's cheating I know, but apologies to: Kennedy Snr, Jeans, Langford Snr, Law, Moncrieff, Wallace, Greene, Mitchell, Abbott, Pritchard, Eade, Anderson, Lawrence, Sewell, Gunston.

FYI here's the other thread discussing the actual Ultimate Hawks Premiership team that was voted for:

Just messing around but I noticed we have a great tradition of imports to Victoria. I c and pd this

Thought it would be good to have one of those imaginary contests, Vics v the Rest two teams gets most stars in the post

Vics 22 versus
The rest 22

FF Peter Hudson - Jason Dunstall - Gary Buckenara
FB Gary Ayres-------Kelvin Moore------And Collins

HF Cyril Rioli ------Lance Franklin---Tony Hall
HB Luke Hodge-------Chris Mew----------Peter Knights

CL Rodney Eade - Ben Allan - Darrin Pritchard
CL R Dipper'co-----Sam Mitchell-----Brendan Edwards

HB Colin Robertson - Nick Holland ----Ken Judge
HF Graham Arthur - D Brereton --------Alec Albiston

FB Shaun Burgoyne -- Trent Croad------Grant Birchall
FF Jarry Roughead------Michael Moncrieff--John Peck

Ruck Stephen Lawrence - John Platten ---Shane Crawford
Ruck Don Scott--- Michael Tuck-----Leigh Matthews

INT: D Jarman, Ben Stratton, S Rehn, S Dew
INT: C Langford, Ian Law, P Crimmins, D. Parkin

Coach: kennedy
Coach: judge

EMERG. Brad Hill. Luke Breust, Will Langford, paul Hudson
EMERG. Jordan Lewis. Josh Gibson. Brian Lake

Vic team is TOC with a few recruits. The rest team has stars on the bench but I was a bit torn because they did their best work for other teams, hence I put them on the interchange

Also made it the last six decades

Im also thinking Roughead in for Moncrieff, hill in for Judge And Breust in somewhere
