Ump Cam

I was watching someo f the SANFL this arvo on the ABC TV, and i noticed that they have a camera on the goal umpires head. hehhe

Haven't watched in ages, so i don't know if its new or not

Do ya reckon they should do it to the AFL goal umps, or would it be too controversial, if the umpire makes a mistake?

It's bloody awful vision IMO. Just an excuse for producers to put a camera somewhere different.

How about having the camera in the field umps head? Oh that's right, a vacuum doesn't make good viewing either.

I've never understood why they can't put a camera inside one of the goalposts....similar to stump cam in the cricket.

The stump cam in the UK is able to follow the bowler on his run in, why couldn't they install a miniture camera in the goal post that could move and follow the play? Would be great footage for some of the kicks that are touched right on the line.
