"Nearly all his high-contact free kicks are the result of him putting his head over the ball when first to the contest or, when running or changing direction to avoid a tackle, his opponent poorly executes the tackle."Who are the umpires' pets and naughty boys?

yep we would be clear top right now if umps did their job properly this yearIf we got the run of the green from the umpires this year we would be 18-2.
In not one of our close losses have the umpires done us any favours.
Western Bulldogs - Dan Butler Deliberate OOB, in the forward 50 from a fumble, when does a player ever intentionally hit the ball out of bounds in their forward 50 with about 1 minute left when they are trying to win the game.
Fremantle - Caddy shepherd on the line, never paid in football history.
GWS - In the last play of the day the umpires miss a high hip and shoulder on Nankervis that costs us the game. It was blatant.
Sydney - Dominating early only to have the umpires bring Sydney into the game with a free kick to Buddy that leads to a goal, a couple more goals come directly from free kicks.
Geelong - two sets of rules for almost every rule all day.
Top 4 at risk thanks to shithouse umpiring. We just needed one of those games to go our way but none did.
Would be interested to see the last 5-10 premiership winners position on the free kicks table
anybody ever won it from last ?
i'm in the same boat and to be completely honest, i only watch Richmond now and even then i've gotten close to breaking point. This game was one of them, i changed the channel, got better shit to do than put up with that. I've got enough 'character' building over the yearsGood news is Dimma commenting on it has hit the news. Let's see if there is any journous out there that aren't lazy and put the work in to at least ask the question about the umpiring this year. Because I tell you what, I'm a footy fanatic, even more so about RFC and I am a campaigner hair away from throwing it away
2008 Hawks were -99 on differential (last)
I'd love to see the percentages on teams who go on to win after having triple the number of free kicks at half time. I'm tipping its about 98%Some interesting stats involving Simon Meredith umpired games who also happened to umpire us on the weekend.
Free kick counts won by home team 17/21 away team 3/21 and one squared game
Average free kick differential for home team 5.88
Heavily favoured teams in games Meredith is umpiring in. Bolded are the home teams. Below is the differential.
Rounds 1-7 where games are more scrutinized 4-7-5-5-8-8-12
Rounds 8-13 sees relaxing of rules 1-3-4-1-0-3
Rounds 14-21 sees games more scrutinzed again 12-6-5-4-8-6-3-11
I can't remember the last time w were looked after like that on the G, so saying it happens everywhere is bullshit
it happens in Geelong, Adelaide, Perth and wherever Richmond is playing as the table shows we are DEAD LAST for frees
Umpiring is a rort...it stinks...
I suspect but cannot prove it..,games are tailored for TV ratings...and the umps are the tailors under AFL instructions...
Cannot recall the last time teams were smashed by 20+ goals regularly...happens now maybe once in a blue moon...
Secret Agendas see the Season shaped...particularly this year and last (with the doggie free kick ride to the GF)
We are not on that agenda...
