To be fair, I'm not sure how many free kicks you can expect when:

a) You almost didn't possess the ball for most of the game
b) Didn't lay any tackles?

Like, the umps were basically making stuff up just to have an excuse to give you guys frees. Prestia said himself after the game that you guys spent 70% of the game defending which hasn't really happened to you before. Like...you barely possessed the ball and laid f all tackles when you didn't have it. Where were your frees supposed to come from?

its been pretty obvious for years that the Pies are loved by the umps and we are not. Yes last night was bad and the missed Sidebottom throws x2, Tom Lynch non mark and the tap out of the pack paid a throw to the Pies for another gifted goal sapped all momentum from the game. Pies fans saying they had no influence are kidding themselves.

Probably best if you watch the replay, both teams copped the bad calls. I went to the game and thought the pies were robbed by the umps, I came home and watched the replay and saw it went both ways.

You had a good win and yes it’s shame you didn’t win with less frees or a more even free kick count and that part is obviously bothering you You are the new free kick Hawthorn just enjoy it because ask West Coast at home .. it’s bloody handy.

Why would I be bothered about getting free kicks? It's not a bad thing if Richmond gives up free kicks how is it a negative against us when your guys didnt want the ball enough and when they did get it they dropped it or got done for holding it, the umpires have to pay free kicks your literally mad the umpires did their job let that settle in lol,

Off the top of my head?

1) The one against Cox for.....? nothing? That caused a recall of Elliot's Goal
2) The nudge against Langdon on Lynch. Soft as melted butter. Reiwoldt did the SAME thing to Cox in the ruck only minutes earlier and that was let go
3) Kicking in danger that wasn't paid against Edwards on Pendles which resulted in a goal to Lynch
4) Edwards being allowed to take a kick for a free kick he never got. Macintosh 100% would not have kicked that goal and everyone knows it
5) In the same play, Sidebottom being pinged for holding the ball when the ball was merely knocked out of his hands.

Again, this all ignores the fact that you guys barely got your hands on the ball all game and then didn't lay a tackle when you didn't have it.

The free kick count alone rarely tells the full story. When you look at the stats of the game in combination with the free kick count it completely makes sense.

Once again the lopsided free kick count is reflective of the tigers being smashed, very rarely where they first to the contest and when they got there they played scraggy footy. Richmond aren’t a highly skilled team, they rely on 4 key players and the rest are good at in close scragging to dis-possess the opposition. This has worked well for them in the past, but as the pies have shown in the last 2 matches keep the ball clear of congestion and the tigers collapse.

Let it go. Its our problem .. it’s on going thing where our tactics were obviously targeted by the umps at some stage after the grand final but they haven’t moved on.
A great win by Collingwood but next week there is a good chance that we will be facing a similar free kick count which I don’t think is warranted and if it’s another-120 year then that will take too much of a toll.

The Lynch one, you can't shove a guy out of the contest who is jumping at the ball. Its called a block and its paid every game.

The Sidebottom one they paid the same thing the other way in the 3rd quarter against Prestia who hadn't even taken possession.

The 2 missed Sidebottom throws in front of goal not paid? Pies fans mysteriously forget those two. Then we tap the ball out in front of our goals and its paid a throw. No mention of those ones?

You need to open both eyes if you think you got "robbed" with 16 more free kicks.

Bias umpiring last night didn't cost us the game, there were other factors that led to our poor performance. How the men in phlegm, and that Garden Gnome Ray Chamberpot can miss so many frees for one side, yet find "technically there" frees for the pies at certain moments.. I didn't know sidebottom could play rugby. 25 frees to 8. Nothing wrong with that at a Colonwood game these days.

we received the least free kicks 2 years in a row and actually won the flag while being crucified by the umps

Do you think there's an anti-Richmond conspiracy within the AFL? That seems odd, given that your team are great for the league financially. AFL umpiring in general is atrocious, but do you think it could also be a gameplan related issue?

I don't think it is so much the ones paid against us, they are usually always there. And i don't think anyone would argue otherwise.

it is the ones not paid to us for exactly the same thing or worse.

By no means do I think free kick counts should be even and by no means do these play any part in results of games, we have ourselves only to blame.

but last years free kick totals was staggering and we are heading south again at a rapid rate and it is only round 2.

What, just last night. Must have confusing last week when you came up against the other pets, umpires must have been so conflicted as to who to pay all those soft frees too. Was a woefully umpired game for that reason and last night wasn't any better.
