Reading your comments in the gameday thread is really something I would rather not have to put up with. If you get the chance go back and read the GD thread. Your comments are enlightening and a real insight into your football knowledge.

My opinion is that Sandilands does not get the free kicks that are there because the umpires subconsciously think that because of his "unfair height" advantage leeway should be given to the defender. It is frustating that a more normal looking player like Hawkins gets his frees despite his "unfair bulk" advantage. It is compassion for the defender in Sandilands case and the letter of the law can apparently be bent to create "justice."

It's not just us fans that are venting massively about umpiring inconsistencies, why do you think the FFC lodged a formal complaint last week ? for sh^ts and giggles ??
if I could be bothered, after review I would be able to identify at least 10 blatently incorrect decisions ( both paid and unpaid ) in this game
If you accept such mediocrity in life I guess you're also the type who are happy to recieve a pizza when you go to HJ's for a burger.
It's a feckin joke that anybody who is gainfully employed, remains so, with no repercussion, for making continued and blatent errors.
If I made 10 obvious mistakes on a daily basis I sure as sh^t wouldn't have a job the next week - and this is what pi$$es me off.... why can't umps be relegated to the second division upon review of their output each week if it's beyond acceptable standards - they just aren't accountable enough for their actions
 
I hate griping about the umpiring, good teams find a way to despite the umpires but man, it's been hard this season to stick with that line and believe it.

It's not this game in isolation it's been the whole season. Yes, I can live that we give away a lot of free kicks, but when obvious ones in our favour are continually missed it becomes hard to take.

I agree with everything you say. It's nice not to read the obvious, "Umpires were shit." comments. Pizza from HJ's? Maybe!

I wouldn't say having a crack at the umps is an excuse. Mundy certainly could've won that game for us... no doubt - no excuse.. HOWEVER if the umpiring isn't noted for having a heavy influence on the result of that game then that is pure revisionism. It is what it is, after all - absurd umpiring. 31-14 and that doesn't even reflect the non-calls for Freo.

There were so many calls, so, so many calls that were 50/50, or 10/90 that went their way that shouldn't have. Sandilands was a jungle gym, Fyfe was getting held on to every contest as was Hilly. Their players were taking dives, dropping their heads for frees....It was disgraceful to watch.

Yeah it was shit. We deserved to win it and we should have won it, we probably would have if we weren't scared off the ball in the first half.

I'd also hope you'd use whatever influence you have with the WAFC to also get some action. Remember the WAFC (via the govt) is building the AFL a brand new stadium for **** all.

THE AFL corruptly made you play that final in Geelong last year and now you copped that penetration by the umps at that pop gun country backwater ground.

we couldnt touch their players in the first half. It resulted in a free most of the time.
 
No doubt we still have significant weakness that we need to address.

But I'm bloody furious at that outrageous display of umpiring. That as close to being rigged as I have ever seen. Geelong got free kicks for everything and we got free kicks for nothing. The Johnson choke on Sutcliffe was particularly bullshit. What a farce our great game is becoming

The symmetry between the Freo and Peel games was scary. In both we lost a Freo key defender to injury in the first half and in both the umpiring was disgraceful with special reward to players who duck and play for free kicks. Massive free kick differentials in both.
