Roast Umpires

People on here flame players of the club they support.

I flame impartial umpires that I have no loyalty towards.

And I'll keep doing it until they stop influencing our matches so consistently.

Will it change things? Unlikely. Should I give them a break because theyre human? Probably, and I have been at games.

Would I complain to my partner about incompetent people at work that negatively influence my performance and experience? Absolutely.

So will I complain that these guys negatively influence the performance of a club I'm effectively a shareholder of, and my experience of watching them? Absolutely

:heart::heart::heart::heart:

this is my view exactly.

You may as well blame the bounce of the ball; although to be fair the bounce of the ball can never be borderline incompetent.

Personally, I'm not talking about "blame". We won last week. I'm talking about CONSTANTLY seeing fundamental errors and being annoyed and frustrated by it. Not just our game but every game. Imagine watching the game with someone from another country and trying to explain the rules while it's on. It would be impossible. I have experienced this situation recently and it's not a good advertisement for our sport.

Think you are going to have a trying times until you die - Doubt that the umpires performance will improve, especially looking through your rose colored glasses.

I officially have NFi about HTB. It's a joke, plain & simple. There's no method behind the madness. How you can have the ball for a microsecond, have it held to you and it's HTB; but other times a player can take half a dozen steps, get tackled, and it's ball up. Seriously, WTF?

And don't even get me started on dropping the ball Vs having it spill in the tackle.

Deliberate OOB is now the biggest blight on our game. Fair ****ing dinkum, imagine trying to describe the rules these days to an international visitor

You know that umpiring/rules is at an all time low when Lance is joining the party :D

taco ,

The umpires' performance can and will improve in the future. It's just a shame that it's coming to a head to make that happen.

Stevic is a little rabbit and epitomises everything wrong with umpiring. Egotistical little douche, and yes, I know from personal experiences due to his connections with our school.

No question he's an arrogant douche, but he's pretty consistent as an umpire.

Player gathers the ball, takes a few steps, gets tackled, drops the ball without disposing. What do? "PLAY ON"

Player falls to ground, grabs the ball, has the ball instantly held to him. What do? "HOLDING THE BALL!"

That's exactly what pisses me off every game. It's seemingly a lottery when holding the ball is paid. 5-6 years ago they used only pay an idiotic free after many stoppages, now they appear to lazy to ball it up. Seriously are the media bullied into not saying much?

The call on Hudson was UNBELIEVABLE  to give a 50 for yelling "what" is sickening.
How could that be viewed demonstrative, especially when the umpires 10 meters away, his not exactly screaming in his face.
For a players passion and emotion to be penalised in football, is just crazy. Have they really become that precious!

I DESPISE the changes in umpiring, to what we now see today. They have such power over the outcome in the game of today.
By paying the technicality it certainly makes it easy on the umpire to make the call, while at the same time removing the skill and ability to interpret the play and make the call in the spirit of the game.

I have a problem with the 50 metre penalty per se - Think it should be changed to 25m.

Have no problem with the Hudson 50 metre penalty - Why shouldn't you be penalised for shouting at an umpire.

He wasn't being demonstrative! There is nothing wrong with showing emotion. Yelling "What!?" to a decision is purely instinct, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Joke.

The holding the ball and throwing the ball rules need to be interpreted PROPERLY next year, because it is absolutely giving me the schitz.

Hudson would be better focused manning the mark and focusing on the play.

Umpires dont change their mind !

What do you think about a 25 metre penalty ?

Did you stuff too many tissues into your bra today ;)
Seriously though I NEVER thought a football supporter would approve of that call.
