Yes you were. Just like you were this time last year. See you in round 24. :)

very different this year, your game plan is being worked out, we out coached you last night in many aspects, your form has been 100% so far this year, their really isnt much room for improvement

teams will only disect and figure out your game plan even further come season end

Response:

when we stepped out of first gear, you lost control. If you think this was Collingwood's best, you are deluding yourself.

No improvement? Jolly, Macaffer, Maxwell, Johnson, Beams. We are priming ourselves for the finals and if the umpire had half a brain, pendlebury's goal would have stood and you'd be thinking what now.

He who laughs last, laughs best.

Dribble on, we'll embarrass Geelong later in the year, again.

Now piss off.

Isn't it Umpire Apriciation Week this week?

How ironic.

Lol it seems they always have shockers on Umpire Appreciation week. Every year I've noticed it. However this year they have been consistently bad, every week. I think it's worse than I can ever remember in my lifetime, right now.

I'm not having anything at the moment, so what exactly are you on about? I completely stand-by that post, but if you disagree with me, then please just state what it is instead of attempting to patronise me. Thanks.
If you're going to make accusations of such behaviour on the Collingwood board, then you should be able to show proof instead of making it up. Where is your video of this behaviour? I believe that umpires are criticised for bad decisions regardless of the result if it is warranted. What's funny? Please don't selective quote me because it alters the context. Did you read the entire post? Is there anything that you disagree with? I think that Geelong would have lost had they not used an extra midfielder and played him as a sixth forward instead to increase their chances of kicking straight.

They would not have laid as many tackles. They would not have won as many contested possessions. They would not have had as many inside-50's. They would not have been able to flood the defence as easily. They would not have won as many clearances. What do you think?

WTF - "Where is your video of this behaviour" - are you serious. Is that you Chrisite - Christie Malthouse?

Its all well and good isolating 1 decision, but the game is played over 100+ minutes - generally it balances out.. I saw plenty of missed decisions both ways... It happens.. A few of you are measured and smart enough to realise the way it works.. the rest of you are just a bunch of crying little bitches :thumbsd: poor form

Mate, you can't deny that anyone in our position would be crying foul at that decision and airing that frustration on our *own* board is basically what the team boards are for. It's not poor form at all - barging in here in with your size 12s and telling us on our own board how we should be responding is poor form. Whatever the reactions here, whether I agree with them or not, is irrelevant - it's the Collingwood board, it's our play area, so you know how it goes, f*** off if you don't like it. You would have been here long enough to see a plethora of gracious posts from Pies fans when Geelong has beaten Collingwood, and vice-versa, so really, you're looking pretty ridiculous.

I watched the game with my regular footy-watching mate who is a die-hard cat, so we had an enjoyable night laughing at each others free kicks and marveling at most of the decisions all night. The bit that I think eally sticks is this: Geelong should hve had a bigger vantage going into the last few minutes of the game - like 4 goals or so, so paying the advantage or not shouldn't have mattered. But it did. Geelong were deserved winners - well done, congratulations, but unfortunately the umpiring *did* affect the final outcome and Collingwood was robbed of a decision that should have won them the game - whether they deserved it or not.

Worst thing I have ever seen was Bartel blatantly ducking his head and charging into Clokes (?) legs.

HE GETS A FREE KICK!!! Not only this, he could have caused an ACL or other knee injury.

****ing *****

the only player you have to come back that can make an influence is jolly and ottens has his measure

remember what you guys where telling us last year, we where very innacurate, dont count on that happening again, we did what we had to do to win, we controlled 70 percent of the game and where too good.

last year you had the superior game plan, that is not the case anymore, things arent going to get any easier

collingwood are using the game plan that they have used for years, geelong are using a game plan they have been using for 8 weeks, we will only get better as the year goes on.

Getting a bit ahead of yourself aren't you? You beat us this time last season as well. How did that turn out for you?

like i said last year you had a superior game plan that jumped oposition, this year teams are only going to figure it out more and more and things will only get more difficult as they do so, we have a new game plan which we are still perfecting and getting better at every week, we will only get much better come finals time, collingwood have already been at their best

The umpiring was poor both ways.

On the off topic discussion. I'll still be very confident meeting Geelong come finals. We were missing 5 best 22 players and Geelong were nearly full strength. Add that to the fact that we're clearly pacing ourselves and aren't even franticly using our press yet, I imagine we have a bit more improvement left in us than Geelong.

Your list is a whole lot older then ours so we have more improvement then your bunch of pensioners.Don't get your logic one bit about us allready being at our best it's only round 8.Yes you won and good one ya but seriously this post is full of rubbish.

face it, their is not much difference between the teams, we should have won by more, yes its our fault we didnt kick straight, but its unlikely we are going to kick that badly for goal again

as for you being younger, geelong recruit as well as any side in the AFL we will always have good players coming in, age is not an issue for us with our excellent recruitment

Agreed.

Collingwood didn't execute it's game plan coming out of defence, so, for anyone to say they've 'figured' us out is garbage.

We were like stale bottles coming out of defence, didn't run, didn't make space. It was pretty poor for us. And to go down by a kick, to the 2nd best team playing fairly poor, says a lot.

we didnt let you, we gave you no space in defence, what you normally like to do is get a short kick out wide to the boundary and thats how you start up your run, we wouldnt even let you have that short kick, we forced you to bomb it high to a contest, we wouldnt let you create any run, you tried to get run but we stoped it.

we aint gonna play that bad next time.when we have jolly back in the centre you wont be winning most of the centre clearances so easily therefore the ball wont be down your forward 50 the whole match.seee how your team manages when we have the ball in our forward 50 more often.

yes you recruit young guys well but you have about 8-10 players (not sure on the amount don't know every player on your list) who are 28+.What's gonna happen when they all reach 30 at the same time? Don't think bringing in 8 young guys at once is gonna translate to being at the top end of the ladder. But with our list we have alot of guys who are still young who can be at the top for much longer then Geelong.

geelong isnt going to decline this year, when we do decline, it wont be for long with our superior recruiting.

ottens has got jollys measure anyway, we have got the bigger stronger bodies, we are hapy to bomb it long to a contest, we dont have to generate run like collingwood

didn't say you'd decline this year:rolleyes:can you read?? i said in the next couple of years when your players reach the magical 30 year old mark.we only have about 3 or 4 who will be reaching 30 in a couple of years.

ottens has woods measure i'll give you that much but not so sure over jolly.what exactly happened when we played you in the prelim last year.did ottens towel jolly up that much that we were beating you by about 80 points early in the third quarter.geez what a towelling up that is:rolleyes:you also have the older bodies bro which means you'll be buggered by the time it gets to the end of the year.we'll have the younger legs and outrun you.

you have the younger quicker bodies, but you also have the lighter weaker bodies that will get hurt easily and wear out, the stronger mature bodies last our the year, not the light weak ones.

you smashed us last year because we had a game plan that made it easy for you to put preasure on us and get a turn over and kick a goal, that has changed, we now are prepared to hold on to the ball and bang it long and wide to a contest, we are not just going to handball the ball up thru the middle of the ground anymore

ottens barely played a game last year, now his fully fit, he has jolly covered when he is fit and running. also remember, that most of our players that are 28 plus, dont rely heavily on speed, they are not going to slow down and decline all that quickly

Funny because these younger and lighter bodies didn't wear out last season when charging to a premiership.

Geelong certainly have a few more bigger and mature bodies. That is evident, which is why I felt the Cats played the conditions better. On a dry deck, it would have been very interesting to see the younger and lighter bodies of Collingwood v Geelong (not that Pies are light but probably slightly lighter than Geelong).

Also, Ottens doesn't have Jolly covered. Jolly's GF was epic last season. He could have easily won the Norm Smith such was his dominance. Ottens has finally got his body right this season but don't believe that he has Jolly covered. If Jolly isn't ahead it would be very tight.

Nonetheless, will be interesting to see the next time we meet and what happens between now and then.

we'll just have to wait and see how it pans out.when your guys get injuries it's gonna take them longer to recover with their older bodies.we actually aren't that light of a team.suppose if you see brad dick you'd come to this conclusion but we aint a skinny side.

we smashed you cause we got the ball out of the centre and kept it in our forward line for long period of times.then when you tried to run out we pressured you turned the ball over and bang you got smashed.if you really think you figured us out going by last night your kidding yourself.you guys beat us first time last year as well then next two times we beat you guys quite easily.

i'm still disagreeing that ottens has jolly covered.it's your selection panels fault for picking a unfit ruckman in a prelim final.he played so he was fit cause he was out on the ground and jolly absolutely smashed him.mate once they reach over 30 they drop off quickly.have a look at our older players from last year.they lose it quite quickly once age catches up to them.i still think we'll beat you guys easily next time.

when we beat you guys next time feel free to come on here again and tell us how much better you guys are then us:thumbsu::D
