Seriously,

i'm upset because we should have won that game, AND - Well done to West Coast for coming back, bu am i the only one who thinks the umpires in that game were LESS THAT ****EN PATHETIC??????????????????????

Especially in the last qtr when the game was there to be won..........

Post here!

I can't blame the umpiring. It never stood out that much IMO. I had a sense that we might have got the best of it early on so maybe it balanced out late in the game. I was looking to blame anything for losing that game. I just expected it to go wrong eventually and was praying it wouldn't happen in such a heartbreaking manner.

I didn't see the game, but the umpiring almost always favours the eagles at Subi.

It was a great game by both..........................until the umpires stepped in.

mate when home calls are that obvious, why not blame them?

No........................it's not!
And i am proud.

Never said i wasn't!

West Coast were disgracful!

Did not deserve to win at all, lacked desire and hunger to win.

Whilst I will admit defeat, the Scotland holding the ball decision in the last quarter was shocking, as it allowed Cousins to run on and West Coast to drill another one home. Scotland barely had his hands on the ball when Cousins came charging in from the side!

Fev should have also been awarded a few closer to our attacking 50m when he had his arms chopped on several occasions.

Just think though if some of these calls had gone our way... <Sigh>

Yep should have won the Blues but the Eagles are a very good side and 5 goals better at home.
That umpiring is part and parcel of playing at Subi against both WA teams when the home side gets on a roll. It's so loud and intimidating there that the umps just hit the panic buttons when the crowd roars and pay silly free kicks.

Scotland was done for the high fend off wasnt he? If they dont have the legs to chase Cousins around all day then its too bad. I cant see where all the favouring was, for once they let play flow when it was a tight contest rather than having the whistle glued to their mouths like is often the case.

because when teams and supporters blame the umpires it gives them excuses in the future for poor performance.

I've critisized umpire but i'll never blame a loss on umpiring, because it gets you into bad habits.

I'll admit Eagles got the better of the umpiring in the WCE-Carlton game, but at Subiaco, and any ground for that matter, the home team gets the rub of the umpiring 80% of the time. It's mainly because the crowd gets into the game, the umpires feel the pressure of being critisized every time they give the opposition a legimate free kick and as the game goes on the do cave in. It's just human nature. And that's part of the home ground advantage....

It's just the way it is. Even playing in the league i play in, the home team gets the rub of the umpiring because the umpire usually comes from their club. He's trying to be unbiased but they usually are a little pickier on opposition tackles, spoils, holdings the balls then they are on the home teams.

It's just the way footy (actually, every sport) is......

i thought that was given as incorrect disposal wasn't it. He had a little bit of time but when he was tackle the old one handed handpass came out.....??

Also if memory serves me correct Cousins picked the ball up straight from the free and ran on, and no one got within cooee of him at any time.....?? That may be wrong, but pretty sure it's right. If it was the case the free kick was incidental then surely....

Umpires effect almost every game these days.

There was a time when they were impartial and paid a free kick for doing something untoward. Now they're here to make an in impact.

Nice going umpires.
