Welcome to our world. Before the Port vs Collingwood game, the umpires were talking to buckley in the magpies rooms... Am I the only one that thinks that is strange?
Then R. James gives away a 50m penalty for throwing the ball to holland after a free kick is paid. Pathetic.
Vic clubs not only get an easy ride with the umpires, they only have to leave their own state a few times a year.

It was a bit more like a quarterback pass than a gentle throw though. When it happened I could relate to a degree as to why it was paid a 50, tough yes, but most will agree that he did ditch the ball at him with a strong force.

As for the other point Essendon playing collingwood at the MCG is not really a home ground advantage like playing at AAMI is for Adelaide and Port Adelaide. So I have to agree with the Victorians there most vic teams would only get about 4 or so games against interstate sides at their home ground which are the equivellent of our home games. Since 1997 there has been 6 interstate premierships and 2 victorian premierships and last year there was no victorian side in the GF, there is absolutely no facts at all that back up the claim that Victorian sides are assisted by playing so many games in Melbourne than the interstate sides, actually it says the total opposite.

Then we have listen to the crap coming out of Vic about the salary cap concesions to Sydney and Brisbane, and that they 'just want a fair playing field', and yet interstate clubs are still forced to play prelims at the G despite earning home finals.

That is the biggest crock of ******** of all about the MCG "home" preliminary final fiasco. That better be getting resolved with the AFL with the Commonwealth Games coming up. The only way if it doesnt change is for one team to have to balls to boycott which will never happen, but it would cause such a scandal that it would have to be changed.

Yeap umpiring was pretty questionable during the game. When Tyson Edwards intentionally handpassed the ball towards the boundary and the penalty was not given, I had to chuckle to myself at how attrocious that call was. Looking back at the game I don't think I should have been so worked up about the umpiring as we did receive 3 50m to none against the Hawks(most of them soft though and pretty sure would not be given on any other given day). Nevertheless I suppose the disputes lie within the inconsistencies of free kicks rather than the Frees For and Against count. I don't mind if the count doesn't add up to a 50/50 statistic. What I have a gripe about is that if they are going to penalise for say an instance of holding the ball, at least call for another when a similar incident occurs! The crows are a well disciplined side and I hate to think that we are incessantly penalised to do the right thing.
