Is it just me or was it really that bad?

AFL will do sweet **** all about it as they did sweet **** all when Rosebury paid 11 frees to 1 against the red carpet Hille can do anything he likes Veruca Salt Bummers.

Rolled out the red carpet when Mclaren was biassed against the Verucas but as we all now by now ,Richmond don't get that special treatment.

I thought we got treated well in the Hawthorn and Port games.
Some of the decisions last night though...I'm not sure how they come up with some of them.

First half :)o) wasn't any good I don't think. Watched a bit of the game on telly just now and some decisions weren't as bad as I thought.

The McGuane one in the goal square was horrible. I thought one of the umpires would have picked up on Deledio being held by the legs in the middle of the ground after disposing of it too.

I agree tugga with the Hawthorn and Port games. The Hawthorn game was just a joke re: umpiring for both teams but more so for Hawthorn.

Never ever have I seen a more disgraceful call as that one.
The one where Gilbert was running through the middle, had plenty of opportunity to get rid of it, tries to take on the Richmond player, but fails and the umpire calls play on was almost as bad.
Terrible umpiring last night

What grinds my gears is how when caught in a tackle players these days just drop the ball what ever happened to in incorrect disposal. The aints did that a heap last night and got away with it.

Yeah, that was an absolute farce. I know Tuck (?) ended up with the ball after the tackle but it's holding the ball anyway FFS. I was pulling my hair out after that non decision.

the saints people around me were even commentating on how bad the umpiring was when they were giving kosi that dive, schneider that goal, and a whole lot of holding the ball that didnt go for or went against us.

I don't know that that was necessarily the wrong decision, Tuck basically just took the ball straight out of his hands.

There were a few terrible decisions though. One which annoyed the absolute shit out of me was when Jack took a mark on the lead about 40 out and seemed to be just tackled to the ground by his opponent, not even in the action of spoiling. They pay some fairly bad 50s at times these days but that just seemed like the most blatant example you could see. Jack subsequently missed the shot. Having said that it was up the far end of the ground to me and I haven't seen a replay but it definitely seemed like it should have been paid.

Yes I too am bemused how dropping the ball is ok now but a player diving in for the ball in a pack to win posession is called holding the ball.
The idiots are ruing the game with the peanut interpretations.

Umpiring gets worse every year. Sack Geish, he has NFI.

Agreed - they were absolute shockers. Members were seriously going off, haven't heard that much noise at the Dome in a long time.

Also the one where Matty White waited for the drop of the ball but somehow managed to give away a free kick because he knocked his opponent with his body?! Just terrible.

the tackle in the first quarter (by richie i think?) got the guy in our 50 holding the ball.

ump let it go and they kicked one 20 seconds later

umpiring was average really, they let us get away with a few things too

Brought back memories of the nab cup against hawks this year.
Soft as butter for at least half a dozen times (for both sides but mainly against us).
I felt so sorry for Luke McGuane i dont know how the **** he kept his cool with the umpires last night i know i woulda lost the plot Brian Taylor style
That umpiring at times almost makes you feel like giving up on the game when a good 1 on 1 contest is spoiled by over-umpiring.
It would be interesting to know how many FK's the saints got in their forward 50 as well.

Must be easy to be a Saints supporter these days... (since the '04 days..)

Go along to the game and know that you instantly have an edge on your opponent. The Saints supporters around me just laughed when the frees were paid.

How is it that we more than any other team gets ****ed over by the umpires. I know we aren't a good footy team atm but ffs... and this "the team that is first to the ball will get the free kicks" is bs. We regularly win the clearances and hard ball gets and still get ****ed by the tossers in red/green/blue..

the raph clarke throw really set the standard...was like he was trying to serve in volleyball! play on called and the saints kick a goal when we should have been having a shot on goal

the free schneider got when he dropped the mark on the goal line was horrendous as well, i dont think the ump was even watching and just assumed their must have been a free since it was a pretty simple mark he dropped

i was fuming all game

in the same way players like judd and abblett get extra leeway cause the umpires assume they do the right thing, they assume the worse teams and players do the wrong thing.
