A celebration for Campbell McDonald today.

Campbell made his umpiring debut in 1975 therefore at Elsternwick Park today as Old Melburnians host Williamstown CYMS, Campbell celebrates his 50th year as an umpire. A dinner is being held tonight at the Elsternwick Hotel too.

REP GAME APPOINTMENTS

Can someone with umpiring experience let me know what the process for being selected for that games is ?? Is it based on performance ? Tenure ? Potential??? I would of thought a dedication to being at training and I assume the fluoro odd balls have some sort of coaching sessions weekly, I don't imagine all they do is run and practice free kick signals?? Do you need to umpire all season or can you float in and float out but still land the rep games ??? What's the go and how does this all work

Not judging just curious??

I only endeavour to learn.
