Cooper Macdonald to Beaumaris meaning it's Graham Templar and Adrian Keane looking after the goal umpires.

3 umpires have joined the VFL - Patrick Sexton, Jordan Gibson (field) and Zane White (boundary). Once again proving that the competition is the strongest breeding ground for umpiring in Victoria.

And as for me...season 2026 will..finally...be my last.

Clayton was a passionate and talented goal umpire who always supported and mentored others. His contribution will be long remembered.

Sad to hear of Clayton's passing. I knew he had been unwell, but it was still a shock.
He was flashy, but the best calico craftsman I’ve seen in the VAFA. RIP.

Very sad to hear, Clayton also umpired in the WFNL around 1990-2000, umpired with him many times. Terrific bloke and talented goal umpire, sad news.

Clayton's funeral is Tuesday, 10.15am at Altona Memorial Park. Looks like big numbers attending

Just a bit more on the numbers, we had our season launch last Wednesday night.

The crowd was so big it spilled out into the HQ foyer. Last year it was a total of 611. Looks almost certain to be a distance past that.

Clayton's funeral was well attended all in footy colours as requested. He would have loved that.

I hope all umpires behave tomorrow night, don’t mention the word paid around the guest AFL umpire or he might take it the wrong way…
