A celebration for Campbell McDonald today.

Campbell made his umpiring debut in 1975 therefore at Elsternwick Park today as Old Melburnians host Williamstown CYMS, Campbell celebrates his 50th year as an umpire. A dinner is being held tonight at the Elsternwick Hotel too.

REP GAME APPOINTMENTS

Can someone with umpiring experience let me know what the process for being selected for that games is ?? Is it based on performance ? Tenure ? Potential??? I would of thought a dedication to being at training and I assume the fluoro odd balls have some sort of coaching sessions weekly, I don't imagine all they do is run and practice free kick signals?? Do you need to umpire all season or can you float in and float out but still land the rep games ??? What's the go and how does this all work

Not judging just curious??

I only endeavour to learn.

Congratulations to all the award winners...however the biggest surprise was return of the Club of The Year Award. And how very appropriately named from now on and for Fitzroy to have the award this year a very special moment of the night. A truly popular win.

Cooper Macdonald to Beaumaris meaning it's Graham Templar and Adrian Keane looking after the goal umpires.

3 umpires have joined the VFL - Patrick Sexton, Jordan Gibson (field) and Zane White (boundary). Once again proving that the competition is the strongest breeding ground for umpiring in Victoria.

And as for me...season 2026 will..finally...be my last.
